He left a will on 27 July 1771 at Bertie County, North Carolina. This will, proved in the September court, lists Aaron, Moses, and Jonathan as sons and Sarah, Mary, and Martha Spivey as daughters. He died on 2 August 1771 at Bertie County, North Carolina, at age 41. He may be a brother of George A. Spivey V, died 1779, who was married to Esther Stanley.

However, it is believed that Carrico is correct as Carrico is his greatgrandmother's maiden name, on the Springston side. He was the son of George Farley Bush and Joanna Goff Springston. He married Mary Elizabeth Riddle, his cousin, daughter of George Washington Riddle and Rebecca M. Keith, on 14 May 1865 at Gilmer County, West Virginia. He and Mary Elizabeth Riddle had 8 children. He served for two years as a superintendent of free schools and as a school commisioner. He married Mary Catharine Gordon, daughter of Joseph Francis Gordon and Matilda Catharine Smith, on 5 June 1889. He and Mary Catharine Gordon had 6 children. He died on 17 June 1908 at Gilmer County, West Virginia, at age 63. He was buried at Horn Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Gilmer County, West Virginia.

George Farley Bush was born on 11 September 1820, probably at Lewis County, Virginia. He was born on 11 November 1820 at Lewis County, Virginia. He was the son of George Bush Jr. and Mary Wolfe. He was a farmer. He married Joanna Goff Springston, daughter of Jacob Springston Jr. and Luda Goff, on 24 February 1842 at Lewis County, Virginia. They began their married life in Roane County, Virginia. He and Joanna Goff Springston came to Sinking Creek in what is now Gilmer County in 1843. He bought a 50 acre farm from Hiram A. Goff by working for 50 cents a day. He bought an additional 50 acres under the same terms. Over time, he increased his holdings to over 865 acres. He died on 16 August 1904 at Gilmer County, West Virginia, at age 83. He was buried at Union Church Cemetery on Sinking Creek, Gilmer County, West Virginia.

Joanna Goff Springston was born on 21 February 1820 at Randolph County, Virginia. She was the daughter of Jacob Springston Jr. and Luda Goff. She was employed as a cook for her brother, Abraham Springston, and his road building crew in the first road-making at what is now the Murphy District, Ritchie County, West Virginia, in 1832. She married George Farley Bush, son of George Bush Jr. and Mary Wolfe, on 24 February 1842 at Lewis County, Virginia. They began their married life in Roane County, Virginia. She and George Farley Bush came to Sinking Creek in what is now Gilmer County in 1843. She died on 12 June 1902 at her home on Sinking Creek, Gilmer County, West Virginia, at age 82. She was buried at Union Church Cemetery on Sinking Creek, Gilmer County, West Virginia.

Jacob Springston Jr. was born on 4 August 1772. He was the son of Jacob Springston. He was a constable in 1796 at Randolph County, Virginia. He married Luda Goff, daughter of John Turton Goff and Monacah Carrico, in April 1807 at Randolph County, Virginia. He served in the Army circa 1812. He was Justice of the Peace in 1814 at Randolph County, Virginia. He was a Magistrate between 1817 and 1827 at Randolph County, Virginia. He was an Ordained Minister after 1827 at the Leading Creek Baptist Church, Virginia. He lived at Lewis County, Virginia, after 1827. He died in 1841. He died on 15 December 1841 at Lewis County, Virginia, at age 69. He was buried at the Woodford Family Cemetery on Leading Creek, Lewis County, Virginia. No marker exists for the grave.

He was an organizer of "the first Methodist Protestant Church" in 1829 at the old Harmony Church, two miles east of Jane Lew, Virginia. He served "in the Civil War and was in the Drum Corps." He died in May 1879.
