BAPTISMIn Baptism we celebrate our response to the Holy Spirit's invitation to believe in Christ and live the Gospel. We are baptized in the name of the Holy Trinity. Immersing the person in water or pouring water over the person's head three times.
CONFIRMATIONConfirmation strenghtens our life with God and unites us more closely to Christ and his Body, the Church.
EUCHARISTThe Eucharist is the heart of our Christian faith and life. All the other sacraments and everything the Church, the Body of Christ, does starts with and ends with the Eucharist.
PENANCEThe Sacrament of Penance celebrates God's forgiveness and mercy. In this sacrament the Church continues the work of Jesus, who gave his life for theforgiveness of sins. The Risen Christ gave his disciples the authority to forgive sins in his name. He said to them: "Receive the Holy Sprit. If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained." JOHN 20:22-23
ANOINTING OF THE SICKThe Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick strengthens our faith and trust in God when we are seriously ill or dying.Jesus strenghtened the faith of the people in God, who revealed himself to them: "I am the Lord who heals you". EXODUS 15:26
HOLY ORDERSThe sacrament of Holy Orders calls and consecrates a man to continue the work, or ministry, of service that Christ handed on to his apostles.
MATRIMONYThe sacrament of Matrimony is one of the two sacraments at the Service of Communion. Matrimony calls and consecrates a Christian man and woman to serve the whole Church as a living sign of the unity and love. Christian spouses are called and consecrated to give witness to that love by living as signs of Christ's love within the Church.
