These stories came about when we were a-courtin. We would give each other a list of "elements" that had to be included in the story. For example, here is the list for the story "A Day In The Life Of"
  • Elmer the Seagull
  • Alphonse the Lizard
  • marble
  • rhinoceros
  • rusted-out Chevy pick-up
  • bucket of potato peels
  • macaroni
  • snowman
  • army boots
  • garden hose
  • super soaker
  • six lawn chairs
  • cancelled stamp
  • wind-up toy octopus
  • Uncle Wiggly Books
  •
I hope you enjoy reading them as much as we did writing them. When one of us gave the story to the other person, we usually made that person read it aloud site-unseen. See if you can do that.
"A Day In The Life Of" Find out what a seagull and a lizard do on a typical day in their lives.
"The List" Why would somebody hurt another person for some macaroni, an egg carton, and some lighter fluid?

"Ain't Life Great?" It starts with a bathtub full of cream cheese and ends with a Nerf Ball.
