1968 12 03 Elvis '68 TV-special aires in U.S.A and is viewed by over 54 millioner viewers. The psychedelic era had dawned, the time of the Magical Mystery Tour, and most trend-followers had written off the King. With this electrifying televised special, Elvis reclaimed his throne. The opening salvo showed Presley in an ultratight closeup, his face filling the screen. There were the low, dark eyebrows, the simmering eyes, a red bandanna tied around his throat above a black silk shirt, his famously full lips an inch from the microphone, as he sang, "If you're lookin' for trouble/You came to the right place." This was Elvis in his electrifying adult prime, taking care of business as only he could.
