.... Once again the continuing saga that is Family News This is somewhat of a mini-series covering past/present/recent events in and around the house for a sixteenth time. Or can I say perhaps Volume 2 Issue 3?
This is one page of several others that "getting better as we go" keeps you up to speed of events around here.
Something Different: Also for your entertainment is a page of early McLellan history in pictures. Details are there.
©1999 2000 D2M, I'm sure images and certain proprietary items are here somewhere, they at all times belong to/ registered to the respective owners, you know who you are.

Karin's world
20000303 - College is part of our social life! This is of course a good thing to enjoy school and we all know a bit of comfort in this direction can't hurt. Studies are going well and for the next year or so she remains a student et al. The Hair shop still fills in the extra time away from school. The Mazda is still on the road and doing well.

Still wondering, What's up with kids and snowboard's?

(Mount Royal )

Sherri's world
20000301 - As you know, she still enjoys both jobs far too much.
Like, Oh my gawd, Ricky Martin is coming to town! I'm speechless.

The Taurus is still on the road and doing well as we speak.

Carolyn's world
20000306 - Last month the new drug therapy was started with a different kind of a Beta Blocker than she used a few years ago.

Again, with success there is failure. The arrhythmia is not as pesky nor the initial nausea but a reduced strength and if you will, fortitude. Adjusting the amount and time the drug is administered is a slooow process. If it were instant and/or short duration one could adjust dosage within a few days, such is not the case. For the first quarter of the day her ability to "get going" is a challenge with each day just a bit different.
When you look at it the entire life style change, different diet along with the adjustment of the whole schmere in just under a year, whew! It's very hard to grasp the condition that has been around for about 30 years has now changed...
Continued research is required on our part.

20000305 - Insurance companies are not your friends. They may tell you otherwise, do not take this to be fact.
Insurance adjusters are not your friends. They may tell you otherwise, do not take this to be fact.
The game is afoot. Soon might be months or years in insurance terms, certainly not days or weeks. The settlement on our leveled fence et al I think may take several months to get under way and we do not want to get short changed.
Last month the fence was destroyed by a neighbour with her car. I can handle this, accidents do happen but as we all play the insurance game and expect them to do as we have been assured they will do they always have a reason to not settle. The story is now there is a clause about not making better from a claim. The way I see it to be fair is replace or repair (painted, straight, honest and satisfactory) what was damaged and go away.
Prior to Feb 5 we had a fine and dandy fence, gate, table (for gardening reasons), metal shed (to house lawn tools) and assorted stuff in the path of the car. The faceless insurance company thinks we will do better by getting actual items replaced or repaired. So be it I say, they were fine before the incident, and should be fine after they are done fixing. Ah you say so what's the beef, they claim it will be NEW stuff that is used to repair / replace and this is somehow better. I offer to accept used stuff, just as it was before damage, "no" they say. Bwah ha ha haa, the battle will be starting very soon.

The House
The fan keeps us cool...
20000301 - The 7RP (70's Renovation Project) is stalled.
What to do? Do we spend let's say 20 large on a kitchen or spend 20 to 30 large added to what we have and buy new? The rub is this, we have a sound house now and to sell and invest in another (perhaps smaller) we will have to add 20 to 30 large to maintain suitable standards. Or throw at least 20 large at the current dwelling and not have to send out "change of address cards"?
Looking at new houses is somewhat of an experience that is hard to put a finger on. What we are after in a new house (if this is the choice) is very limited availability. There are plenty used and older but where are we then, back to an older kitchen? The easy answer is to get one built. That's the only easy part about it, the answer. The questions are far too many to consider.
We are waiting and standing by to solve another house emergency.
