.... Once again the continuing saga that is Family News This is somewhat of a mini-series covering past/present/recent events in and around the house for a fifteenth time.

Karin's world 20000203 - College is part of our social life! This is of course a good thing to enjoy school and we all know a bit of comfort this way can't hurt. The job still fills in the extra time away from school. What's up with kids and snowboard's? (Mount Royal )

Sherri's world 20000202 - As you know, she still enjoys both jobs far too much. The recon I am getting is her hours are slim at the second job (the underwear store) but she is still in the loop. If you read this Sherri, your father says to run outside now and check your car's fluids! Hurry.

Carolyn's world 20000201 - In recent days I accompanied her to another session with the rhythm guy at the Foothills. Not so recently she has had a morning arrhythmia with unknown cause and duration. The Doc suggested a drug therapy and from a standpoint that "we have had success" it's the "had" that gets me. I don't have a lot of faith in our medical community as you know but understanding the whole picture, I guess it would be something to try.
And try she has. With success there is failure. The arrhythmia is not as pesky but the nausea is! There has to be a happy medium and nirvana may take some time as history has proven time and time again. Adjusting the amount and time the drug is administered is a slooow process. If it were instant and/or short duration one could adjust dosage within a few days, such is not the case.

Don's world 20000205 - The company truck is cursed! The previous hunk-o-junk was dubbed the "Anti-Christ" in a tribute to the movie The God's Must Be Crazy. The new truck is a far cry worse, and one day I hope to see it gone. The rub is thus: It seems to get in accidents when I am no where near it. This is a good thing, I don't want to be any part of it getting into trouble. Briefly the truck in Nov '95 stopped a couple of bricks late one night, in May of 95 it stopped someone from driving up onto the front yard and just recently on Saturday Feb. 5 it was there again preventing total destruction of our garden shed and fence. In other words our fence and shed are partially destroyed along with some items stored near by. The poor woman that hit the fence was pretty rattled and a bit sore I think, later in the day Calgary's finest did not smile upon her. Prior to all of this the truck has been a death trap, on the afternoon of July 17, 1997 (the hottest day of the year, perhaps you remember it) the brakes failed completely. The short version of the story is the shop that did the brake work prior to the accident was tied up in court over the mess. Since then it has several other parts and problems repaired that I think are far too early in it's life to have done. (Telus) |
The House Remember me speaking of the doomed appliances? This year will be their final hurrah, if the gods of renovation are with us this summer there will be a ceremonial discarding of kitchen hardware. They have charted their fate and it's going to be messy (if I have my wish) and I won't bother to warm up the large hammer, cold steel, bwah ha ha haa.
