The Cy Award is a recently initiated prize given by Circle of Fire Studios Inc. and the Active Worlds Community. The awards cover several categories including technical innovations, artistic endeavours, and social/cultural activities, and many AW users were honored by getting the Cy Award this night. PV was nominated for Excellence in Community Initiative for Community Leadership/Participation. The grand gala hosted by CoF started at 21:00 vrt, and ENZO and Chloe opened the event by thanking everyone who have made Active Worlds the place it is today. Chloe pointed that the Cy Award nominations is a way to show the AW community members the recognition they deserve for taking the extra step to enhance our virtual environment.
ment and my short speech. This was indeed a historical day for PV, and we should all be proud of reaching this far. The "Golden Cy statue" will be placed somewhere near the Town Hall, and there will be a local celebration to be announced later on. Even though prizes are nice, we will not forget that PV is about the small gatherings, the gay interest and the community where we can make friends and perhaps even give moral support to gay and lesbian people with one leg in their closet. That's something to be proud of, too:)
Gallerie 2222 has this far hosted 8 different exhibitions, and a year ago we could watch pictures made by PV citizens mainly. Let's make this an annual event! If you concider yourself an amateur, don't worry - most of us do. A simple jpg is still a picture, and even if it won't garantee you any fame, have fun mixing colors and testing the software's capabilities!:) Hit the keyboard and make sure your contribution is mailed to Bille before May 30th. This invitation is also valid for non-citizens. While you wait to get your picture on the wall, check out the current exhibition, "Emotions", featuring male art created by PV citizen Eljay.
If this concept works out there might be 3-4 tours a year. To join a tour you will need to sign up in advance as the project might involve several people, and it would be waisting too many persons' time including prepearings if a tour gets cancelled the very last minute. The PV Charter Club is yet much in it's start. A few things need to be sorted out before the very first tour will be announced - hopefully end of May. Anyone who wants to help planning this all out can telegram Bille or just get in touch by chat. The Charter Club has now got it's own homepage announcing the tours and showing pictures from previous tours etc. World owners, builders and globetrotters: Suggestions for destinations are appreciated!:)
The interactive map was introduced by Eljay in April 97 and can be found at every major PV square, in Eljay's garden and elsewhere. Eljay is still updating the map, and reminds you all to check out whether your lot is included with the correct coords. E-mail Eljay to submit any corrections!
