Welcome to the website Canada Customs Sucks. This webpage has been
created in response to
the policy of some Canada Customs agents to arbitrarily and
without regards to the Criminal Code of Canada confiscate the legally
owned property of Canadian Citizens, residents and visitors.
It is the position of the Federal government that citizens of Canada should
not be allowed to defend themselves. The use of any object to
defend yourself from attack will make one liable to a charge of
assault with a weapon. The government takes the position that it is much better
for the common good if you allow yourself to be robbed, raped, stabbed,
beaten or murdered rather than cause harm to another person.
Canada Customs Agents are assisting in this assault on our personal freedom by
identifying and confiscating "offensive weapons" that visitors and
returning Canadians bring into Canada.
However, which weapons will be confiscated and which will be admitted
seems to rest entirely at the whim and mood of the individual
Canada Customs Inspector. The visitor or returning Canadian Citizen
has no way of knowing in advance what items will or will not permitted.
One is entirely at the mercy of The Customs Officer.
The Criminal Code of Canada clearly sets out what
is a weapon, and what weapons are banned,
and yet some CCRA agents will on their own authority attempt to bully you into
surrendering your legally owned property, simply because they
think Canadians should not possess such items
It is imperative that every resident of Canada that feels that he was
improperly deprived of his legal property by a CCRA employee to
contact supervisory staff in the CCRA, and take their complaints as high as
necessary to get satisfaction.
On the other hand, it is possible that the agents are acting
under a CCRA directive, and that it is
an unpublished policy to try and disarm every person entering Canada.
We will be providing information as to what exactly is a weapon,
what weapons are banned,
and just as importantly, what ISN'T a weapon. We will also provide
information to help you avoid
declaring weapons when in fact you have no weapons,
and being made to
abandon your legal property
Since the time we initially started the webpage, we have
come to the conclusion that officer 12078 was basically blowing smoke up our ass.
If we had been more aware of CCRA regs, and our rights, things would have turned out
very differently. So, the purpose of this webpage remains the same,
to help you know you rights, and avoid becoming the victim of your own personal Officer 12078
To this end we have edited out many references to "confiscation",
since the agent didn't confiscate our property. we were instead tricked into surrendering it.
There is a big difference between having your property confiscated, and simply abandoning it.
The Agent knows it, he hopes YOU DON'T.
1:
According to the Criminal Code of Canada,
"offensive weapon" means the same this as a "weapon".
Under the Criminal Code, there is no such thing as a defensive weapon,
and the posession of ANY item for defence makes it a weapon.
2:
In this webiste we refer to Canada Customs Officers, Canada Customs Inspectors,
and CCRA Officers. All of these terms refer to the front line staff of
Canada Customs that man the inspection booths and do secondary
inspections of vehicles and persons.
3:
The information provided on this website is provided to assist
the visitor or returning resident of Canada in providing,
a complete, truthful answer in regards to the question concerning
the posession of weapons. Lying to or telling evasive answers to
Customs Officers for the purpose of circumventing Customs Regulations
is a serious offence, and we urge everyone to be
completely honest and direct.
4:
This website deals only with non-firearms. There are exhaustive lists
of allowed and banned firearms, with pages of accompanying
rules and regulation. Whenever we refer to weapons on this webpage,
we always mean non-firearm weapons.
5:
This website is provided for general information only, and makes no claims
as to the accuracy of any information contained within. It is also anecdotal,
based on our own personal experiences, and our own laymans interpretation
of Canadian Criminal Law. We urge any persons with any questions
regarding CCRA regulations or Canadian Criminal Law to
contact a knowedgable professional.
