to: Attendees, Team Managers Discussions/Reports 1. Financial report (Mazenauer) The April estimate for the remaining year was understated including the City fee for field use increasing from $20/hour to $26; Insurance going from $300 to $650. As a result each team must pay $200 (this is in addition to the $150 recently paid) by 8/31/04. 2. Edgar field will have the fence taken down 8/23/04. It will be mowed by the city before 9/4/04. The city has approved the use of Montar to burn the lines but prefers paint be used. The city has offered to burn the lines the first time if the SSL provides some manpower to assist the city employee, Richard Gosselin, by laying out the lines. The city is installing additional sprinklers to improve the coverage of the new sprinklers. Patricia, city employee and project manager for Edgar field refurbishment, needs a contact list from both the Saturday and Sunday leagues. Udo to provide her two contacts for SSL. The field is in very good condition and the city and SSL intends to keep it that way by not playing on rainy days. The games will be cancelled when there is a significant threat of rain and the players need to be reminded we are trying to protect the field when it doesnt rain and the game is cancelled. The city is concerned that SSL be good neighbors. The way for SSL to be good is a) no alcohol, b) no fighting and c) dont leave trash. A and B seem to be under control, but the trash situation needs to improve. Each team needs to police their area after their game. The team managers acknowledged the fine effort Jeff Rowe extended in getting Edgar field refurbish. 3. Louie Duran's request to enter another team into the league was tabled, as there was no status of his new field. His team will not be included in round one of the new season. 4. No games will be scheduled 9/4 Labor Day, 11/27 Thanksgiving, 12/25 Christmas, 1/1/05 New Years Day. Friendlies can be scheduled thru Udo. 4.1 Ard to provide the date (probably in November) of the Las Vegas tournament for which no games will be scheduled. 5. Udo announced his resignation, but will continue to serve as president until another person is elected or 1/1/05, which ever comes first. 5.1 Nominations/application for President or Secretary are open and encouraged. The candidates should provide a statement describing why they want the position and send it to Udo and Richard Shirey who summarize and distribute to the team managers. 6. Ard asked the team managers to consider splitting the league into two 5-team divisions. One over 45 the other over 55. All players and managers should send their views to Richard Shirey who will summarize the comments for the league to consider. Submissions must include the full name of the person and their team affiliation. 7. The registrars confirmed the following regarding player transfers: 7.1 A person who has ever played in the league, no matter how long ago, is a transfer if he switches teams. 7.2 A person who transfers must pay $25 in addition to providing the other paper work. 8. The registrar had the team managers remove players from their rosters that were no longer playing. 9. New player Ids were considered for the following reasons: 9.1 Some players have more than one team Id, which makes it hard to limit them to playing for only one team. 9.2 The referees would like each team to have a different color Id. 9.3 No second for the motion was made, therefore, no vote was taken. The cost and effort seemed to be too great for the extra benefit. Conclusions/Decisions Actions:
