Psalm 46:4 - There Is A River, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High.
The Midi that is being played, 'There Is A River', is a song with words that are biblical and inspiring. It was written by David and Max Sapp in 1969.
There Is A River
There came a sound from Heaven,
Like a rushing mighty wind,
It filled their hearts with singing,
And gave them peace within,
The Prophet gave this promise,
The Spirit will descend,
And from your inner being,
A river with no end.
Chorus 1
There is a river
That flows from deep within,
There is a fountain
That frees the soul from sin,
Come to this water,
There is a vast supply,
There is a river
That never shall run dry.
There was a thirsty woman,
Who was drawing from a well,
Her life was ruined and wasted,
Her soul was bound for hell,
Then she met the Master,
Who told of her great sin,
And if you drink this water,
You'll never thirst again.
Chorus 2
There is a river
That flows from God above,
There is a fountain
That's filled with His great love,
Come to this water
There is a vast supply,
There is a river
That never shall run dry.
The Midi for ‘There Is A River’ was sequenced by Larrie Dee, ‘special’ for us. I am so very blessed by his kindness. When you go to his Website and listen to his soul stirring Midi’s, you will be as blessed as I always am. Thank you, Larrie!
I dedicate this Webpage to my Mother, who has now gone to be with Jesus Christ, her Savior. Back in the 70’s, she heard ‘There Is A River’ on the radio and thought it was beautiful. She suggested that I listen to it, and I am so glad that I did, because from that day on, it has been one of my favorite Christian songs. Here is a picture of my Mother from the days of her youth.
Here are some Verses from God’s Word on Christ, the Living Water, and the Holy Spirit, Who came with a ‘rushing mighty wind’.
John 4:7 - There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus said unto her, Give Me to drink.
John 4:10 - Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knew the gift of God, and Who it is that says to thee, Give Me to drink; thou would have asked of Him, and He would have given thee Living Water.
John 4:11 - The woman said unto Him, Sir, Thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast Thou that Living Water?
John 4:13 - Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinks of this water shall thirst again:
John 4:14 - But whosoever drinks of the Water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the Water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of Water springing up into everlasting life.
John 4:15 - The woman said unto Him, Sir, give me this Water, that I thirst not, neither come hither to draw.
I would like to remind any Visitors that they may still drink of this Living Water. It is always available and it never runs dry.
John 14:16 - And I will pray the Father, and He shall give you another Comforter, that He may abide with you forever;
John 14:26 - But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in My name, He shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
John 15:26 - But when the Comforter is come, Whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceeds from the Father, He shall testify of Me:
John 16:7 - Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send Him unto you.
Before His death, resurrection and ascension, Christ promised to send the Comforter. He knew the needs of those who believed and would believe in Him, and He sent the Holy Spirit to fulfill those needs.
Acts 2:1 - And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
Acts 2:2 - And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
Acts 2:3 - And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
Acts 2:4 - And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
The promise from Christ was fulfilled on the day of Pentecost. The Holy Spirit came with tongues of fire and the rushing mighty wind. The eyes of the believers were opened and they saw, their ears were opened and they heard, and their souls were gloriously filled.
Revelation 7:17 - For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto Living fountains of Waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.
The Lamb, Jesus Christ, will provide spiritual food and water to the saints from His throne, and, in His tender mercy, He shall wipe away the tears.
Revelation 21:6 - And He said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the Water of life freely.
Christ, the All in All, promises to give freely to any who are thirsty of soul for His Water.
Revelation 22:1 - And he showed me a pure river of Water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.
Revelation 22:2 - In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.
What a glorious look into the future! God gives His saints a look at what is in store for them.
Revelation 22:17 - And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that hears say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the Water of life freely.
The invitation to come to the Living Water is still very much open. In the last Book of the Bible, Jesus, the Water of Life, personally gives an invitation to all, to come freely to Him. John 6:37 - All that the Father gives to Me shall come to Me; and him that cometh to Me, I will in no wise cast out. In John 14:6, Jesus says, I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me.
Ezekiel 47:1 - Afterward he brought me again unto the door of the house; and, behold, waters issued out from under the threshold of the house eastward: for the forefront of the house stood toward the east, and the waters came down from under from the right side of the house, at the south side of the altar.
Ezekiel 47:6 - And he said unto me, Son of man, hast thou seen this? Then he brought me, and caused me to return to the brink of the river.
Ezekiel 47:7 - Now when I had returned, behold, at the bank of the river were very many trees on the one side and on the other.
Ezekiel 47:8 - Then said he unto me, These waters issue out toward the east country, and go down into the desert, and go into the sea: which being brought forth into the sea, the waters shall be healed.
Ezekiel 47:9 - And it shall come to pass, that every thing that lives, which moves, whithersoever the rivers shall come, shall live: and there shall be a very great multitude of fish, because these waters shall come thither: for they shall be healed; and every thing shall live whither the river cometh.
Ezekiel 47:10 - And it shall come to pass, that the fishers shall stand upon it from Engedi even unto Eneglaim; they shall be a place to spread forth nets; their fish shall be according to their kinds, as the fish of the great sea, exceeding many.
Ezekiel 47:11 - But the miry places thereof and the marshes thereof shall not be healed; they shall be given to salt.
Ezekiel 47:12 - And by the river upon the bank thereof, on this side and on that side, shall grow all trees for meat, whose leaf shall not fade, neither shall the fruit thereof be consumed: it shall bring forth new fruit according to his months, because their waters they issued out of the sanctuary: and the fruit thereof shall be for meat, and the leaf thereof for medicine.
Zechariah 14:8 - And it shall be in that day, that living waters shall go out from Jerusalem; half of them toward the former sea, and half of them toward the hinder sea: in summer and in winter shall it be.
Joel 3:18 - And it shall come to pass in that day, that the mountains shall drop down new wine, and the hills shall flow with milk, and all the rivers of Judah shall flow with waters, and a fountain shall come forth out of the house of the LORD, and shall water the valley of Shittim.
From the Old Testament to the New Testament, God has given a glorious look into the future. It is all as He declares. He is true to His Word. (Isaiah 48:3 - I have declared the former things from the beginning; and they went forth out of my mouth, and I showed them; I did them suddenly, and they came to pass. Isaiah 46:10 - Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure: Isaiah 14:24 - The LORD of hosts hath sworn, saying, Surely as I have thought, so shall it come to pass; and as I have purposed, so shall it stand.)
