Verse One
Hold tight to the sound of the music of living, Happy songs from the laughter of children at play;
Hold my hand as we run through the sweet fragrant meadows, Making memories of what was today.
Verse Two
Tiny voice that I hear is my little girl calling for daddy to hear just what she has to say;
My little son running there by the hillside may never be quite like today.
Verse Three
Tender words, gentle touch, And a good cup of coffee, And someone who loves me and wants me to stay;
Hold them near, while they’re here, And don’t wait for tomorrow to look back and wish for today.
Verse Four
Take the blue of the sky and the green of the forest and the gold and the brown of the freshly mown hay,
Add the pale shades of spring and the circus of autumn and weave you a lovely today.
Chorus
We have this moment to hold in our hands, And to touch as it slips through our fingers like sand;
Yesterday’s gone, And tomorrow may never come, But we have this moment today.

Of stepping on the shore and finding it Heaven;
Of taking hold of a hand and finding it God's hand;
Of breathing a new air and finding it celestial air;
Of feeling invigorated and finding it immortality;
Of passing from storm and tempest to an unknown calm;
Of waking, and finding you are HOME.

If I Had Known
If I had known what trouble you were bearing;
What griefs were in the silence of your face;
I would have been more gentle, and more caring,
And tried to give you gladness for a space.
I would have brought more warmth into the place,
If I had known.
If I had know what thought despairing drew you;
(Why do we never try to understand?)
I would have lent a little friendship to you,
And slipped my hand within your hand,
And made your stay more pleasant in the land,
If I had known.

I Needed The Quiet
I needed the quiet so He drew me aside.
Into the shadows where we could confide.
Away from the bustle where all day long
I hurried and worried when active and strong.
I needed the quiet tho at first I rebelled
But gently, so gently, my cross He upheld
And whispered so sweetly of spiritual things
Tho weakened in body, my spirit took wings
To heights never dreamed of when active and gay.
He loved me so greatly He drew me away.
I needed the quiet. No prison my bed,
But a beautiful valley of blessing instead
A place to grow richer in Jesus to hide.
I needed the quiet so He drew me aside.
