James Lee Cason Ph.D. was born on 22 February 1922 at Shongaloo, Webster Parish, Louisiana. He was known as "Jim" to his friends and family. He was the son of James Kyle Cason and Amy Lee. He served at the Aleutian Islands, Alaska, in a weather forecasting unit of the U.S. Navy during World War II. He received a Bachelors of Science Degree from Louisiana Polytechnic Institute, Ruston, Louisiana, in 1948. He earned a Masters Degree from Michigan State University, East Lansing, Michigan, in 1950. Between 1950 and 1953, James Lee Cason Ph.D. taught and did research at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, Arkansas. He received a PhD in Animal Nuitrition from North Carolina State University, Raleigh, North Carolina, in 1956. Between 1956 and 1959, James Lee Cason Ph.D. was teaching and doing research at Rutgers University, New Brunswick, New Jersey. He was employed by the University of Maryland, College Park, Maryland, between 1959 and 1970 in the Dairy Science Department. He helped Maryland dairymen improve their herds and facilities. For a while, he hosted a radio show about Dairy Science. He attended the county and State Fairs as a judge of dairy cattle. He retired in 1992 from Northeastern Louisiana University, Monroe, Louisiana, where he worked for twentytwo years. During part of this time, he was the Head of Department for the Agriculture Department. He died on 11 December 1994 at Homer, Louisiana, at age 72. He was buried in 1994 at New Ramah Cemetery, Millerton, Webster Parish, Louisiana.

Celia Catharine Law was born on 10 June 1920 at Lewis County, West Virginia. She was the daughter of Carl Delford Law and Bonnie Nell Bush. She died in an automobile accident on 14 May 1970 at Carroll County, Maryland, at age 49. She was buried at South Fork Cemetery, Summers, Doddridge County, West Virginia.

James Darrell Smith Jr. was born on 15 November 1942 at Washburn, Ritchie County, West Virginia. He was the son of Celia Catharine Law. He was buried on 17 September 2002 at Riverside Cemetery, which is located on his sister Susan's farm, Gilmer County, West Virginia. He died on 17 September 2002 at his home, Troy, Gilmer, West Virginia, at age 59.

He lived between 1917 and 1969 at Shongaloo, Webster Parish, Louisiana. He married Amy Lee, daughter of Robert Elias Lee and Mary Jessie McKenzie, on 24 March 1917 at Shongaloo, Webster Parish, Louisiana. James Kyle Cason is head of household on the census of 31 January 1920 at Webster Parish, Louisiana, as "James Cason". "He was listed as a married, white male of age 26. His birthplace was given as Louisiana and both his parents were also born in Louisiana. His occupation was listed as a farmer of a rented farm which was listed as farm shedule 258.". Enumerated with him were Amy Lee and Mary Dimple Cason. He died on 21 September 1969 at Shongaloo, Webster Parish, Louisiana, at age 76. He was buried at Old Shongaloo, Webster Parish, Louisiana.

Roy Leon Spivey was born on 23 January 1901 at Haynesville, Claiborne Parish, Louisiana. He was the son of William Benjamin Spivey and Mary Eliza Meeks. At the death of his mother, an attempt was made by the family to find Roy. Advertisements were run in newspapers asking for information on Roy. One such advertisement was run in the Sioux Falls, South Dakota newspaper "ARGUS LE'R" July 29, 1928. He was rumored to have died in an automobile accident after 1937 and was buried near Alice, Texas. He died after 1937 and was last seen in Texas. He was declared dead 40 years later.

Bernard Mark Spivey was born on 27 January 1903 at Haynesville, Claiborne Parish, Louisiana. Bernard Mark Spivey was also known as Burnard Maddox which was changed to Bernard Mark. He was the son of William Benjamin Spivey and Mary Eliza Meeks. He lived on 9 January 1920 at Claiborne Parish, Louisiana. He married Myrtle Stell in 1923. He and Myrtle Stell had 10 children. He and Bernard were divorced. He died on 13 August 1982 at Lakewood Hospital, Patterson, Louisiana, at age 79. He was buried at New Ramah Cemetery, Millerton, Louisiana.

Mattie Elizabeth Dee Spivey was born on 18 November 1909 at Haynesville, Claiborne Parish, Louisiana. She was called "Sister" by her family. Mattie Elizabeth Dee Spivey also went by the name of Bessie Dee. She was the daughter of William Benjamin Spivey and Mary Eliza Meeks. She lived on 9 January 1920 at Claiborne Parish, Louisiana. She studied at Normal State College, and majored in Home Economics. She married Joe Bailey Kennedy. She and Joe Bailey Kennedy had 3 children. She was a Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star at Gladewater, Texas. She died on 6 February 1979 at Longview, Gregg County, Texas, at age 69. She was buried at the Lakeview Cemetery, Longview, Texas.

She was the daughter of William Benjamin Spivey and Mary Eliza Meeks. She lived on 9 January 1920 at Claiborne Parish, Louisiana. She was educated at Haynesville High School, Haynesville, Louisiana. She graduated from Medeaus-Droughon Business College, Shreveport, Louisiana. She married William Jack Hobby II on 13 June 1941 at Arkansas. She and William Jack Hobby II had 3 children. She and William Jack Hobby II were owners of Hobby Realtors at Houston, Texas. She died on 27 November 1985 at age 71. She was buried on 30 November 1985 at Forest Park East Cemetery, Houston, Texas.

William Caleb Spivey went by the name of Crutch because he had one leg shorter than the other. William Caleb Spivey was also known as William Calvin. He was the son of Jonathan Spivey. He married Martha Elizabeth Stovall, daughter of Andrew Carroll Stovall and Mary Ann Harvey, on 18 October 1865 at Carroll County, Mississippi; This part of Carroll County is now in Montgomery County, MIssissippi. He married Martha Elizabeth Stovall, daughter of Andrew Carroll Stovall and Mary Ann Harvey, circa 1866 at Carroll County, Mississippi; His obituary says he married in 1866. He was a farmer and a member of the Farmer's Alliance in Mississippi. He was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church. In Kilmichael, Montgomery County, Mississippi. He died on 18 February 1888 at Kilmichael, Montgomery County, Mississippi; a falling limb while cutting a tree caused his death. He was buried at Harvey Cemetery, Mississippi. The Harvey Cemetery is located between French Camp and Poplar Creek, Mississippi.

Thomas Welbern Spivey was born circa 1879 at Montgomery County, Mississippi. He was born on 15 February 1879 at Winona, Carroll County, Mississippi. He was the son of William Caleb Spivey and Martha Elizabeth Stovall. He married Ida Lee Frasier, daughter of William David Frasier and Martha Martin, on 7 February 1920 at Shreveport, Louisiana. He died on 13 October 1968 at age 89. The gravestone must not agree with the birth/death dates in "Spivey Family and Related Lines" since the compiler hand wrote her dates into the photocopy of the stone. He was buried at Garden of Memory Cemetery, Minden, Louisiana.

She married Thomas Welbern Spivey, son of William Caleb Spivey and Martha Elizabeth Stovall, on 7 February 1920 at Shreveport, Louisiana. She died after 1968; Picture of gravestone of Ida Lee and Thomas Welburn Spivey shows his death date of 1968 but her's is not cut into the stone. Hence, I assume she died after him.

Nacy Madison Meeks was born at Alabama. He was born on 12 July 1827 at Mississippi. He was born on 12 July 1827 at Georgia. He was the son of Mark Meeks and Ann Chambers. He married Eliza Jane Buford, daughter of Miles Buford and Jemima Susan Buford, on 28 July 1852. The Minden Rangers were formed on April 1, 1862 and joined the Army of Tennessee in Corinth, Mississippi. They surrendered with General Forest at Gainesville, Alabama. He served in the Minden Rangers of the Confederate Army during the Civil War between 1 April 1862 and 1865. He married Elizabeth Ann Snider on 24 December 1879; The marriage date may have been either Dec 20 or 24 in 1877 or 1879. He died on 13 October 1918 at Haynesville, Claiborne Parish, Louisiana, at age 91. He was buried on 14 October 1918.

She was born in 1815 at South Carolina, according to the 1850 census for Claiborne Parish. She married, second, Miles Buford, son of Le Roy Buford and Frances Ragsdale, in 1828. As of circa 1832,her married name was Buford. Her marriage date is unknown. It is assumed that she was married prior to the birth of her oldest known child in 1832. --; He was listed as a male of age 61 who was born in Virginia. His occupation was given as planter. His real estate was valued at $4050. She was enumerated with Miles Buford on the census of 25 September 1850 at Claiborne Parish, Louisiana, as "Jemima Buford". She was listed as a female of age 35 who was born in South Carolina. She died on 20 June 1891 at Haynesville, Louisiana, at age 79.

Ann Chambers was born circa 1802. Ann Chambers was also known as Chalmers. She married Mark Meeks, son of Littleton Meeks and Elizabeth Ivey, in 1817 at Georgia. She died in March 1857 at Claiborne Parish, Louisiana.

Littleton Meeks was born on 8 February 1766 on Allen's Creek, Hanover County, Virginia. Allen's Creek flows into the South Anna River, which flows into the Pamunkey River. He was the son of William Meeks. He was with the troops when Cornwallis surrendered in October 1781 at Yorktown, Virginia. He and his brothers Nacy, Jesse and Athe were granted land between 1780 and 1789 at South Carolina. He married Elizabeth Ivey at Pendleton County, South Carolina. They may have married in Virginia. He married Elizabeth Ivey at Virginia. He and Elizabeth Ivey, of Surry County, North Carolina, along with John Meeks, perhaps an uncle, with his wife Elizabeth, and Martin Meeks with his wife Margaret were involved in land transactions between 1783 and 1788 on Allen's Creek, Hanover County, Virginia. He was baptized circa 1785 at the Dan River, North Carolina, by Moses Saunders, Baptist Minister. He sold his land to Fred Bartlett in 1788 on Allen's Creek, Hanover County, Virginia. He appeared on the census of 1790 at Nintey Sixth District, Pendleton County, South Carolina, with two children under 15. He paid John Hardin 20 pounds for 120 acres, part of 415 acres, including the plantation where Littleton lived on 16 July 1795 at the Little Beaverdam and branches of the Coneross River, Oconee County, South Carolina. He appeared on the census of 1800 at South Carolina. He was ordained by the Sarepta Association of the Baptist Church in May 1800 at South Carolina. He moved in 1802 to Franklin County, South Carolina, and settled on land overlooking the Grove River, about 4.5 miles from Homer, South Carolina. A Meeks family graveyard is located there. He witnessed sold land by Nacy Meeks in 1802 at Pendleton County, South Carolina. He was a founder of the Grove Level Baptist Church, Franklin County, South Carolina, on May 1802. After 13 September 1802, Littleton Meeks preached at the Line Baptist Church (founded September 13, 1802 by Moses Saunders) in Franklin County. The "Line" was the line that separated the settlers from native-American lands. Preachers had to be back across the line before dark or they may have been killed. He preached the last sermon before the Cherokee left on the "Trail of Tears" in the Tinswattse Mission Church, circa 1830. He died on 22 September 1852 near Homer, Franklin County, Georgia, at age 86. He died at the home of his son, Nacy, in Franklin County. Homer is now in Banks County.

Elizabeth Ivey was born on 10 July 1768 probably in Virginia or Pendleton County, South Carolina. She married Littleton Meeks, son of William Meeks, at Virginia. She married Littleton Meeks, son of William Meeks, at Pendleton County, South Carolina. They may have married in Virginia. She and Littleton Meeks, of Surry County, North Carolina, along with John Meeks, perhaps an uncle, with his wife Elizabeth, and Martin Meeks with his wife Margaret were involved in land transactions between 1783 and 1788 on Allen's Creek, Hanover County, Virginia. She died on 22 November 1857 at Habersham County, Georgia, at age 89 at the home of her son, William Sheldon Meeks. She was buried at Davis Family Cemetery, Cornelia, Habersham County, Georgia, Due to winter weather, her remains could not be carried to the old family plot in Franklin County, where her husband was buried.

Clyde Hawkins was born on 5 November 1906 at Kilmichael, Mississippi. He was the son of Charles Harvey Hawkins and Amey Maxey Spivey. He served in the United States Army after spending almost a life-time in the Army. He retired after serving as a Private, First Class in Battery C, 586 Antiaircraft Artillery (AW) Battalion on 14 December 1945. He was a Quality Inspection Specialist between 1945 and 1978 at the Louisiana Army Ammunition Plant. He died in 1981 at Minden, Louisiana.

Archie Deronda Roberts was born on 10 February 1880 at Minden, Webster Parish, Louisiana. He married Dora Reid. He died on 26 January 1951 at Minden, Louisiana, at age 70.

He was a soldier in the Civil War He was a POW who was released in an exchange near the end of the war per the Military Annuals of Carroll County, Mississippi. He served in Company B, 15th Mississippi Regiment, Winona Stars, which was organized at Winona, Mississippi. He served in Company B, 15th Mississippi Regiment, "the Winona Stars". In February 1861 at Winona, Carroll County, Mississippi. He died in 1880.

George Spivey was born on 15 September 1827 at Windsor, Bertie County, North Carolina. He was the son of Jonathan Spivey. He lived circa 1830 at Haywood County, Tennessee; as a child. He was baptized as a member of the Baptist Church. He was a school teacher in 1848. He lived after 1848 at Carroll County, Mississippi. He married Mary Elizabeth Stovall, daughter of John Stovall and Elizabeth Jones, on 15 August 1850. He served between 1861 and 1865 at Confederate Army. He was a Mason. He was also a member of the Stratham Ferrell Camp of Confederate Veterans. He died on 6 October 1903 at Mississippi, at age 76. He was buried on 17 October 1903 at the Stovall Cemetery, Winona, Carroll County, Mississippi.
