He and Susanna Horn moved to York County, South Carolina, after 19 November 1793 They sold their land on the Raccoon Swamp shortly after the death of Susanna's father.
He died circa 1810; "Lewis probably died between January, 1809 and the time the census was taken in 1810. ... There is a possibility that Lewis was not dead in 1810, at age 64 but was the male over 45 listed with his son Zaccheus."
