My journey with lupus officially began four years ago. Looking back, I'm sure I had lupus when I was very young. I am plagued with joint pain, muscle pain, cognitive difficulties, digestive problems, fatigue, and anemia. I also have Fibromyalgia and diabetes. I had to give up a rewarding nursing career three years ago, and go on disability. Financial problems have burdened us every since. In addition to life's complications caused my illness, my son has been diagnosed with Tourette's Syndrome. I help run a local support group for FMS, CFS, Lupus and Chemical sensitivities. Through it all, I have finally learned to focus on what God has given me, rather than on what has been taken away.
