Recycle Empty Paint Buckets

Thoroughly clean the inside of the paint bucket with soap and water, remove the outside label. Using Elmer's spray adhesive, decorate your can with fabric, lace, rick-rack, or any other trim your imagination comes up with. You may also choose to use candy wrappers or other decorative paper to cover your can! It's just that simple. Then fill with a plant, flowers, individually wrapped candy, crayons, buttons... uses are limitless. These are really cute planters! I have given these for gifts and were well received. Have fun!

red heart  Rag Heart 1:  red heart

Take a metal clothes hanger and cut off the hook, or, if you do not have wire snips, use pliars to untwist it. Form the wire into the shape of a heart.
Cut 3 x 1 inch strips of fabric (preferably with pinking sheers).
Tie each strip of fabric around the wire heart, as close together as possible.
Hang with ribbon.

heart bar

red heart  Rag Heart 2:  red heart

Cut three strips of fabric, about 1 yard each in length and about 1 inch wide. You can experiment with length for different sizes of hearts.
In a large dish ( like a baking dish ) mix Elmer's Glue-all with water. Mix approximately 1/4 cup of glue with 1 tsp. water.
Dip your strips of fabric in the glue/water mixture and squeeze out excess. Put a clothes pin on one end, holding all three strips together, and hang from clothes hanger, or place a heavy object on the ends to keep it stationary.
Braid the three strips, then lay it on a flat surface, shaping it into a heart, and leave it to dry over night.
Once dry, you can tie the two ends together with a ribbon and hang it on your wall!

Tee-Shirt Pillows

buttons
To preserve and make use of those precious keep-sakes, here's an idea for your children's special tee-shirts. Such as, sports shirts, school shirts, dancing shirts, etc...
Simply sew together the bottom and sleeve holes of the shirt, stuff generously with pillow stuffing, then sew the neck opening together! Makes a cute throw pillow for their beds, or yours.
