Lisa's Story

I have had a positive ANA for 4 consecutive years. My most significant symtom is fatigue. I also experience pain, malaise, flu-like symptoms, fever, night sweats, weakness, sores in the mouth and nose; Raynaud's phenomenon, Fibromyalgia, Arthritis, irritability, irregualar menstral cycles, mental fog, and I do experience cognitive and memory problems daily.

I am emotionally doing better now that I have gotten past the denial and anger. I am positive. I have loving friends and family that help me emotionally. I do alot of reading and have begun to keep a diary of my bad days. I keep positive thoughts in my mind and I remember the ones who are far more ill than myself and I help friends, new and old, and this gives me the help I need. And on the days that do not go well, I go to sleep and hide in my room under my sheets and covers until I regain my strenghth to keep fighting.

I feel satisfied with the medical care I have received and believe the physicians I have consulted have been well-educated on the disease. I do have good family support, but the one thing I would like for them to realize is that I feel like crap and there is nothing they can do about it.
