Image of the month
It is a known fact that everyone will have a
different opinion on which image is the best.
I am not trying to pick the best image, but picking an image that I personally liked.
I am sure that we will all agree on the fact that this is an excellent image!

| Looks like I am going to have to pick one of my
images again, being as too much time has gone by since the last pick and images are not
being submitted to fit this category lately. I selected this image not only because it was already in my computer and easy to put up, but because it is the type composition I used to like to paint in oils. Yes, years ago I used to do oil landscapes and made up images very similar to this one. The only thing I am not sure about is the bright boulder in lower left quadrant. I would probably have eliminated it from a painting as shown below. With it there, I keep wanting to see a Kingfisher perched or something sitting on it, but that would change the subject of the photograph wouldn't it?<VBG> This is image was taken as a side bar to a jeep road on the way down from the Gold Hill area high in the Ten Mile range of the Colorado Rockies. I was watching the trail dodging boulders and pots holes. My sharp eyed brother in the passenger seat had been watching through the trees and suddenly told me to turn off to the right at the first opportunity. As it turned out I was glad he had seen something and not just wanting a pit stop. --- Lee Snipes aka Greyhawk |
Here is the image simular to painting without boulder.
Note.... If I do this many times, I am going
to have to make a canvas filter with
finer texture to use instead of this close up of linen, but it gets the idea across!
Also looking at this, now I really like the idea of a deer on the left edge of stream,
pausing and looking up from a cool refreshing drink. Hmm, may just make that
fabrication one day for the Photo-graphics site.
