MISSING CAT......... Runaway or Abduction ?? image14.jpg (8138 bytes)

Neighbours in the Perth suburb of Parkwood were today stunned to hear of the disappearance of local resident cat Idgi, from Lessar Place. Local residents had believed the neighbour hood to be safe with no complaints regarding the disappearance of pets.

Idgi, a happy and contented 8 year old chinchilla has been missing from his Lessar place home since Saturday July 24th 1999. His owner Ms Monica Feldman is completely baffled as to his whereabouts. "He has never been away for more than a day at a time so I am getting a bit worried" she said from her home in Parkwood. "I don't believe he has run away" she said he has never showed signs of being unhappy or discontented! Local residents; who were alerted to the cat being missing have banded together to keep an eye out. Whilst the idea of his running away hasn't been dismissed, there doesn't seem to be any other conclusion to jump to than ..abduction!

A thorough search covering approximately 4 square kilometres of the immediate area, has failed to turn up any clues. To aid in the search Miss Feldman has employed the use of her two dogs; both of whom got on very well with the cat. "If he is lying dead somewhere Lex will find him. Lex has an excellent sense of smell ! He has often whilst out walking in the nearby bushland found other unfortunate dead creatures. He often finds them whilst I am not in the direct vicinity and will alert me to his find by rolling in the remains and happily trotting back to me so I too can enjoy the smell of his find"

Miss Feldman says she takes heart from the fact that as yet no body has turned up either. "I guess you don't really believe they are dead unless you have seen the body" she said. "This really couldn't have come at a worse time", "my other cat that I had, recently took up residence next door with the new neighbours" "I guess I felt a bit betrayed but.....(shrugs her shoulders) Cats are like that" Apparently there had been some recent animosity between the brown cat and the dogs. They (the dogs) tormented her dreadfully, so I guess it was only a matter of time before she decided to look for more favourable lodgings; "I cant believe Idgi just left.....he had no reason to". Friends and workmates have been said to be very supportive.

Neighbours of No. 9 Lessar place have come forward with a conflicting story regarding what they believe to be the reason that Idgi the local chinchilla disappeared from his home at the above address.

"Neglect not abduction"
...............say neighbours

Several neighbours in the suburb of Parkwood have come forward and stated that on the night of Idgi’s disappearance his owner was involved in a wild party at her home. They said that music was heard coming out of the residence till all hours of the night and several cars were seen in the driveway.

"It happens all the time; there are always strange comings and goings out of that house!" said Mrs Stikhernosein yesterday when speaking to this reporter.

"I’m not one to gossip" she said "but in the past 10 years that she (Ms Feldman) has lived in this street there have been some strange people seen coming and going."

"Its a regular occurrence these wild parties" said Mrs Stikhernosein.

"Not that having a few friends
over for dinner in any way has
anything to do with the cat
going missing"!!

Ms Feldman has dismissed these allegations as typically vexatious. "I had a few friends over for dinner, .....that's all!! "It was a rather quiet and certainly contained gathering."

It was a simple three course menu, consisting of and entree of scallops, Thai style chicken thighs, followed by a tangy French style lemon tart. (All homemade of course)
