Simon, who in RL lives in the UK, knows the proper facilities for a pub. "Although no actual RL pub was used for the construction, I feel that it has the essential ingredients of the types of pubs in my area. I hope to include a dart board, Pinball Table and a Pool Table as soon as I can figure how to do that."
Hmmm... our final question to Simon T is whether he carries one of those Prince Albert piercing, himself? "I am afraid not, do not think I could have the courage to have it done." Everybody are welcome on the opening night! The establishment opens it's doors for the very first time July 11th at 22:00 vrt. And - don't get surprised if the beer is free all night, even if that is probably not typically British...:) (And here is the brief report!)
Some of these ideas have already been executed, like the PV banner and the fact that the 3 pictures that normally are updated every 2nd week, now include one picture for the girls. There has also been discussed to build a special club or café for a lesbian audience. One challenge is that none of the active lesbians are experienced builders, but maybe someone out there want to offer them some assistance? PV Council would like to offer a lot on Pink Island for this purpose, but details are not ready yet. PV veterans will recall that one year back we had a discussion exactly like this. Then it was hard to initiate any activities especially for the girls, as Lacerta was the only lesbian citizen. Now, one year later, this should be a lot easier with 5 more or less active girls in PV, and PV is also better known "out there". The girls have applauded the Council's initiative, and will be supported any time they like. Official announcements can easily be done, a lot can be prepared, but we need to make sure that someone is there to follow up any plans. And this goes as a challenge to the girls:)
Ether, who has been doing artistic works since the age of 10, had his first real life art show back in high school, showing his earliest works in water-color, chalk and paper, in a small gallery in Coloma, California. He still loves white chalk on black paper, but these days anything creative
July 98 Ether is having another show in Sacramento, California USA, and in August & September we can all see some of his works in Gallerie 2222. The pictures are based on various techniques and a great deal of fantasy. The artist will (hopefully) be present at Gallerie 2222 at the vernissage (opening) August 8th at 22:00 vrt. After the vernissage there will be a party at a yet not defined location. There you can watch the posters from the gallery's 10 exhibitions. Whilst you wait for the "Virtual Candlelights", make sure to check out the ongoing exhibition, "JOY", featuring work by 11 PV citizens and friends. This mixed show has been a great success, as the gallery was not able to host all the contributions! This proves that there are lots of creative AW ppl - as we didn't already know...:)
Even if Pink Village has been using VRT as a standard for about a year, many PV citizens are yet not familiar with it. Even though, most PV announcements are done in VRT only. Make sure you will be there on time the next time you want to attend an event. Use the easy VRT calculation chart that for some months has been a PV service on the web - remember to do adjustments for your local summer time, because VRT, like any time zone, is static. If you still don't get it, please ask the PV councillors.
Installing the VRT clock is as simple as can be; In the browser's tool bar, chose "Show", then click on VRT clock. Remember to read the info in the help files (it's already in your computer...), because the clock might lie...
The following quotes are copied from the help files (without permission from COF, but as it is for a good course "Virtual Reality Time is a convention agreed upon by members of the various virtual communities
that make up Active Worlds as the new standard time to be used for events. VRT is actually
equivalent to the "Mid-Atlantic" time zone, which is GMT minus two hours.
To make VRT easy to use for Active Worlds users, version 2.0 now features an integrated VRT
clock.
Note: The clock calculates VRT based on your current system time and your time zone. If your
system time is incorrect or if you have the wrong time zone specified for your system, then the
VRT clock will be incorrect as well.
To learn more about VRT, its history, and how it is being used, visit the Virtual Reality Time Home
Page. This page also contains links to additional utilities which are available for using VRT. "
