bullet John Stephen ROSEN was born on 6 Apr 1949 in Owosso, MI. Parents: Richard Allan ROSEN and Ruth Jane WITCHELL.

He was married to Kathleen Ann CLINE on 4 Jul 1969 in Perry, MI.
John and Kathy both attended Perry High School for 4 years, graduating
together June 5, 1967. John was active in baseball, basketball and
played football his Senior year. Both John t Kathy were in the band
John played trumpet & French horn and Kathy played the coronet. Kathy
also played piano for Jazz groups associated with School Band.

After high school, John worked at Fisher-Body, Lansing and in Sept.67
started classes at M.S.U. with engineering as his Major. On April 2,
1969 John entered U.S. Air Force, taking basic training at Lackland
A.F.B., San Antonio, Texas. He took special training in Airborne Radio
repair, Keesler A.F.B. at Biloxi, Mississippi. He was granted a 3 day
leave July 4, 1969, flew home and married Kathy in Perry, Mich. They
then spent 6 weeks together in Biloxi prior to Kathy returning to Flint
Michigan to complete her Senior year at Hurley School of Nursing. John
was stationed for 3 years at Forbes Air Force Base with Aero Cardographic
Geodetic Service under the MAC command. He achieved the rank of Staff
Sergeant in 1972. Kathy joined John in Topeka, Kansas after graduation
in June 1970 and was employed by Starmont Vail Hospital, specializing
her last year in Cardiac Care Nursing.

John was honorably discharged June 22, 1973. Upon returning home, he
became re-employed by Fisher-Body and began taking classes at MSU, Fall
term, changing his major to Pre-Vererinary Medicine.

Kathy returned to work, part time, when Tiffany was 5 months old, at
Lansing General Hospital, Intensive Care Unit. She took a second leave
prior to Ivy's birth, returning to work at Lansing General Hospital in
the Fall of 1977, until late February, 1978, when health of Ivy.Jane
Rosen (an asthmatic) left no time for Kathy to work and care for children.

As of this date, Dec. 30, 1978, John has purchased a home in Perry at
519 White Oak Dr. and is In the process of moving into this new home.
His daughters, Tiffany and Ivy Jane are living at the home of their Grand-
parents, Weston & Margaret Cline, in Perry.

Took Nurses Training at Kettering College of Medical Arts, Dayton, Ohio,
and received her R.N. in 1970. She has been employed at the Ingham
Medical Hospital ,Lansing, until recently. She is now employed at the
Lansing General Hospital,Lansing.
She is a member of the Perry Chapter, 0.E.S.#221.
Linda Jo is proficient in music.She played the flute also French Horn
in school bands.The three Rosen sisters often sang as a trio.
Hobbies are music,knitting and home making.

Valedictorian in 1968 with many honors and awards. She was a member of
the Student Council,also of the Laingsburg Marching and Concert Bands.
She received the Alpha Beta Award, American Legion Award,the Top Ten
also the John Phillip Sousa Award. She attended the Midwestern Baptist
College in Pontiac, Mich.for a year where her program was Music Composition
Vocal Training,and Choral Directing.
She graduated with a BA Degree with honors in 1974 from Michigan
State University at East Lansing with a program of Elementary Education,
majoring in Fine Arts and Social Studies. While at M S U she belonged to
the Campus Crusade for Christ.
Jean is proficient on guitar,also Bass Guitar and 12 string,also
Banjo, Auto Harp and Piano.She has directed choirs in schools and churches.
She teaches in the Baptist Church grade school also teaches guitar lessons
in her home.She has written and published music.
Jean enjoys the out-doors and out-door activities,gardening,tennis,

was a member of the Great Lakes Navy Choir and also played trombone in fhe band
He completed his training with the rating S2/c. He was stationed in Hawthone,Nev.
at the Ammunition Depot and received honorable discharge in 194·6.He went back
to High School in Perry .Took G.E.D.Exams and received his diploma in 1946.
Attended M.S.U.where he also a M.S.U. policeman.In 1953 he graduated from the
Keeler Polygraph Institute in Chicago. He served at Fisher Body in Lansing for
fifteen years as a Plant Protection Guard. He was a partner in "Rosen construction
at its begiisning in 1973, and also owned " Norm's Standard Station " a few years
in Perry.He is a registered pilot and owned small airplanes. Norman and Patricia
belong to the Flying Farmers of Michigan Norman attended the L.C.C. when it first
began, serving as the first student body President.He is again attended L.C.C.
and training to become a certified Inhallation Therapist. He is a member of the
Perry Masonic Lodge # 350. Norm was in the U.S.Army Reserves 1950-1960. Ser.# E.R.

She was married to John Merle SHAUVER on 19 Aug 1967 in Lansing, MI. John M. Shauver attended North School on Miller Rd.,Lansing for first
few elementary grades, through Jr High at Deerton School, Deerton, MI
(in U.P. east of Marquette), Attended High School at Mather High,
Munising, graduating in 1964 Attended M.S.U., East Lansing, 1964-1968
graduating in June, 1968 with a degree in Fisheries Biology. Had a 4-a
Scholarship for the first year at M.S.U. Jobs held while attending
include factory worker (Motor Wheel); foundry worker (Superior Brass,
E. Lansing); part time clerk at Denstaedt's hardware, Lansing and general
worker at United Parcel Service, Lansing. Following graduation, John did
a study of the Jordon River in N.W. lower peninsula of Mich. for the
Jordan River Watershed Commission. His report was published by MSU in
the spring of 1969.

John was inducted into the Army Nov. 6. 1968 Had basic training at
Ft. Knox, KY. A.I.T. at Fort Ord, Cal.; N.C.O. School at Ft. Benning,
Ga., then stationed at Ft, Carson, Colorado until discharged in August,
1970. He had obtained the rank of staff Sgt. (E6) in the Operation &
Intelligence Sectlon. He returned to Michigan to work for the D.N.R. in
Oil and Industrial Pollution.

Hobbies include fishing, hunting and farming. In High School, John was
in the National Honor Society, was in 4-H for 6 years and was a Jr· Leader
for 2 years. The Shauver family Is mainly of German descent and were Free
Methodists, a grandfather being a minister. The Dhaenes were of Belgium
origin, emigrating to America In 1907. They were a staunch Catholic family.

Rebecca Lynn Rosen Shauver attended the Perry Elementary School, then the
Stoner Elementary in Lanslng until 4th grade. She then attended the one-
room Graham School for 2 years; Shaftsburg School for 2 years and Perry
until graduation in 1966· Graduated in top ten, was in Nat'l. Honor
Society and won an award for a short story. Also was in Band and other
Clubs. In 1965 was an exchange student (summer only) to Sweden through
Youth for Understanding. Was a member of the Graham Church and very
active In it. Worked as a waitress, nurses aide, also file clerk for
summer, then attended MSU In fall, continuing to work for Sec, of State.
Married J. M. Shauver on August 19, 1967, then worked to put John through
last year of college. Continued to attend MSU part time. Hope to gradu-
ate someday. Worked as Veterinarian's assistant In Colorado Springs while
John was stationed at Ft. Carson. Worked as Book-keeper for Yankee Auto
Center after return to Michigan· Then for Wickes Mfd. Housing until birth
of baby in 1971.

bullet Richard Allan ROSEN(2) was born on 29 May 1923 in Hasting MI.. He was a Security Chief for Fisher Body. Richard Allan Rosen started school in a one room school house in rural Hastings.
Mich. at age 4, walking with sister E. Jean. Moved to Lansing, attending
Walnut St. and Genessee St. Elementary schools, West Jr.High and Old
Central High School. Family moved to 11940 Pulver Rd., Laingsburg, on a
very cold February day, 1937. Richard and sister E, Jean commuted to
Lansing schools until Jean graduated, Sept. 1939· Richard transferred to
Bath High School--he lacked 1/2 credit for graduation when he enlisted in
Marine Corp. Feb. 2, 1942. Boot Camp, Quantico, Va., then shipped to
Samoa for intensive training as member of Col. Edson's FIRST RAIDER
BATTALION. Aug. 7, 1942, battle on Tulagi; Sep. 42, Guadaicanal, wounded
in battle of Blood Ridge--received Purple Heart, unit citation. Hospital-
ized New Hebrides, then New Caldonia. Over Christmas 1942, to New Zealand
for rest and recuperation. Loved New Zealand, beautiful country, lovely
people. Regrouped at New Caldonia. Aug. 1943, Battle on New Georgia.
Nov. 19431 Furlough home, then to Camp LeJuene, N. Carolina, re-training
as M.P. (Married Wilson, N.C.) Sept. 1944 arrived at Guadalcanal, trans-
ferred to Headquarters Division, 29th Marines, incorporated into 6th Marine
Division under General Shepard. Very intensive training for assault on
Okifiawa Easter Sunday, 1945. Unit Citation for battle of Sugar Loaf Hill;
Presidential Citation to Division. June 1945 to Guam for regrouping.
Oct. 1945 to Tsingtao, China. M.P. Investigative Unit. Enjoyed work in
China: Discharged Feb. 2, 1946, Great Lakes, Illinois--Serial #355-437.
Discharged as Corporal (TW), served as Sargeant while in China. Weapons:
SS Pistol, Bayonet, Machine Gun.

Richard started working for Fisher Body, Lansing, May 1, 1946, as patrol-
man, Plant Protection. Quit to start MSU in Fall, but gave it up because
of financial problems. Worked as welder at Roby's and Reo until re-hired
at Fisher Body, 1948. 1954 went back to MSU, graduating Winter term, 1957·
As a major in Police Administration, many of his papers were copied for
their libraries the beginning of their Industrial Security training program.
He was offered associate professorships, but declined--necessary to work
full time at Fisher Body to support family. In l964 he was promoted to
Sargeant, then Feb. 1, 1968, he was made Chief of Plant Security, Fire
Protection and Safety Director at Fisher Body, Lansing. He was offered
promotions to Fisher Body, Division level, but declined, since that would
have meant a move to Detroit.

Richard enjoys sports--boxing in school and Marine Corp. (was Division
Champ at one time in Marines), fishing, golfing, hunting, farming--anything
out of doors. Retired Oct. 1, 1978 and he is looking forward to "catching
up" on odd jobs around home so he can find time for his hobbies.

bullet Richard Allan jr ROSEN(2) was born on 31 Dec 1951 in Lansing, MI. He was a Michigan State police Trooper. Richard Allan Rosen, Jr. attended Stoner Schools(Lansing tp.), Graham
Community, Shaftsburg Community Schools and entered Perry School system
in 4th grade, attending there until graduation, June, 1970. He enjoyed
sports and band (received both Freshman and Senior Band awards). While
in school, he worked 1 summer for McDonald's Hamburger chain,and one
summer at a Standard Gas Station in Williamston. After graduation, he
worked at Fisher-Body, Lansing until Fall term started at Ferris Insti-
tute in Big Rapids. After one term, he returned to Fisher-Body.
Married Elaine Partridge in March, 1971. In January, 1972, he became
a Cadet with Michigan State Police, a program set up to acquaint future
recruits with the field of Police work. In january 1973 at age 21, he
was accepted as a Recruit, and graduated April 18,1973 as a Trooper. His
first assignment was to the Detroit post located at Plymouth, Michigan.
He took additional classes at Schoolcraft Community College in Livonia.
In August, 1976, Richard was transferred to Munising, Mich. and now in
1978 has just moved into the home they built this summer outside of
Munising,Mich. Richard enjoys sports and was instrumental In organizing
soft ball and basketball teams in the Munising Community, managing

She was married to Daniel Carter CHAMBLISS on 15 Mar 1974 in Mobile, AL.. Daniel Carter Chambliss lived in Eight Mile,Ala. with his
parents. They became divorced and he and his father settled in Semmes,
Ala. His grandmother and an aunt.helped raise him. He attended Semmes
Elementary School and. then Mary Montgomery High School. After
graduating , he joined the Marine Corps Reserves. Later he transferred
to the Air Force where he received training as a medic. He was
honorably discharged as Airman 1st Class. Due to his training as a
medic he worked for an Ambulance Company in Mobile Ala. He met Sharon
and they were married March 15,1976 Danny also worked as a welder
for Bender Ship Yards until he became trained in Police work. He is now
a member of the Police Force in Bayou La Batre, Ala.
Danny's hobbies are hunting, raising hunting dogs,country
music,deep sea fishing and his family. He is a devoted husband and father.

Sharon Elaine Rosen Chambliss was born in Michigan but lived
most of her life in Alabama. She attended Mobile Schools. The Maryvale
Elementary thru the 6th grade then the Mae Eanes thru the 9th grade, and
graduating from the Murphy High School. She belonged to the High School
Band where she played the clarinet.
She attendee So.Alabama College then studied nursing and will
soon have her R.N. Degree. She is a nurse in the surgical ward in a
Mobile Hospital.
Sharon's hobbies were base-ball, soft ball,fishing and other
out door activities. Her Church, her work and home making take up most
of her spare time now.
Danny and Sharon's daughter ,Bridgette Danielle, is a little
dark-eyed, darkhaired southern beauty and the joy of her parents and
grand-parents .

She was married to Carl SODMAN on 30 Apr 1967 in Lansing, MI. Carl William Sodman graduated from Perry High School June, 1966 and
went to work for Michigan Bell Telephone Company late the same year or
early 1967 He married Susan Janet Rosen on March 4, 1967. Two dau-
ghters born to that couple. Divorced in May of 1975. He is still
working for Michigan Bell as a telephone installer. Spent six years
in the Michigan National Guard beginning in 1967. Went to Fort Polk,
Louisiana for boot camp and OJT training for six months in 1967 His
hobbies include anything with a motor (cars, snowmobiles, motorcycles
He also races go-karts and has traveled with them to Georgia, Florida,
Missouri and New York. He serves as vice-president of his go-kart club;
and in 1977 received "Sportsman of the Year". He's also a good bowler
and has bowled in leagues for nearly 10 years now. No specific political
party or religion. Ancestors are mostly German.

Susan Janet Rosen graduated from Adelphian Academy, Holly, Michigan in
June of 1965. Attended Andrews University the following year and com-
pleted one year of pre-nursing. Left college in 1967 to marry and went
to work with the Department of Conservation at the Rose Lake Wildlife
Research Center. Had two daughters, Lisa and Patti, in 1970 and 1972,
respectively. Divorced in May of 1975 Susan's professional life
includes employment with the Dept. of Natural Resources, the Governor's
office and most recently as,secretary to State Representative Perry
Bullard. .Registered as an Independent, but has had extensive experience
In both the Republican and Democratic parties. Hobbies include piano,
needlework, reading and spending as much time with children as possible.
Have traveled whenever possible, and gone to several states, as well as
Canada and Mexico. Looking forward to a European trip within the next
five years. Other enjoyments include weekend trips to Chicago or
Detroit; theater; dancing and occasional camping trips with daughters.
Have managed to accumulate an additional 52 credits for an eventual
college degree. Would eventually like to earn a degree in business
administration, but probably won't accomplish it until children are
full-grown. Member of Eastern Star.

Lisa Janette Sodman is presently attending Lansing Seventh-Day Adventist
School in the second grade. Hobbies include camping with Mom & sis,
reading (constantly!), and practicing drama. Hopes to go to Mexico in
August of 1978 and thinks she might be a doctor when she grows up.

Patricia Joyce Sodman attends Attwood School in Lansing, and will join

she grows up.
