Luther Grady Stewart was born June 20 1924 at Grady Hospital in Atlanta, GA- Fulton County GA. His early years were spent in Egan Park, GA with his parents, Brothers and Sisters.
Luther joined the United States Marines on November 1941. When Japan attacked Pearl Harbor on 7 December 1941 he was in Boot Camp at Parris Island SC.. Upon finishing Boot Camp in 1942 he was sent to the South Pacific where we served untill 1945. His service in the Pacific Included the Invasion of Guadalcanal, LsLanda, Ellice Island, Marshall Island and the Capture and defence of Guam. He received a Honorable Discharge on 24 November 1945 at the Naval Air Station, Jackson Florida
In 1946 Luther went to work for the American Telephone and Telegraph Co. Long Lines Division where he helped to lay the first coaxial telephone cable from North Carolina to Louisiana and Texas .
While working for AT&T he met and married Wanda Lee Smith of Minden Louisiana. They lived in Bunkie LA, Dayton TN, Pikeville KY, and West Palm Beack FL. Wanting more stability Luther quit AT&T in Nov 1947.
Luther was then employed by the Texas and Pacific Railroad as a Blacksmith helper and machenist in Marshall, TX. After about a year there was a reduction of force which terminated his job. During the time Luther was in Marshal TX. he completed an Art Cource with the Washington School of Art.
Luther and Wanda moved to Atlanta in 1949 where after a few odd jobs as sign painter, unemployment and a Little hunger he joined the Army in July 1949 with the rank of Corporal at Fort McPherson GA. Where we was station untill 1957. He and Wanda bought there first home at in 1956 on Kenilworth Dr. S.W. Atlanta GA.
In 1957 Luther And Wanda was transfured to USAREUR Hq, in Heidelberg Germany where thay lived on the economy in the home of Frau & Herr Lurchman in Kircheime a suburb of Heidelberg for one year. They then moved into government quarters in Patrick Henry Village.
In 1960 Luther and Wanda returned to Fort McPherson GA where he worked at the Graphics Branch of the Engeners. Luther retired from the Army in July 1965.
After a two week vacation Luther returned to the Graphic Branch of Engeniers at Fort McPrerson GA, as a Cililian Illustrater.
In 1980 they got a mixed breed black and gold dog they named Hoagy. It was Luther first and only Pet.
Luther taught sunday school, adult and teenagers. sang bass in the chapel choir. Co-ran the community conserene, was president of the prostant Nem of the chapel, and Chairman of the Parish Council at Fort Gillem Chapel.
On Dec 31 1986 Luther was diagonised with Lung Canser. He unedrwent chemotheropy and radiation during 1987 and 1988.
Luther retired from his job in March 1988.
Luther died October 22, 1988 at South Fulton Hosp. Mohmman Al Mukie was attending Phyisian.

by his parents to southern Mich. by way of Ohio. Here he worked in a

brother-in-law) worked with him. About 1850 he went overland to Calif.
with his brother-in-law (Chase) to join the gold rush. Many were their
adventures. When the Civil War began, he came east by ship around S.
America and landed in Mass. Here he joined the 2nd Mass. Cavalry, Co. L.
He lost an eye in the war. He returned to Mich. in May, 1864 and married
Charlotte Carroll July 30, 1864. They farmed for some time, then he went
north to work in the lumber district. She and children followed and they
resided near Newago, Mich. for some time, later returning to Barry Co.
and settling in Hastings Mich. He was a large man with auburn hair and
blue eyes. He really had the viking appearance and dearly loved
thunderstorms and water. One could really beleive in rumur that his

Death of Arnold Still,Esq
Again our community are called upon to mourn the loss of one of our oldest
and most esteemed citizens, Arnold Still who departed this life Monday
evening last at about 8'o'clock. He was a little over Seventy years of
age and been confined to his home and most of the time to his bed,
since the first of Sept. last. Mr. Still came to Nebraska eight years ago
last fall and has made Syracuse precinct his home since that time.
He enjoyed the esteem and confidence of all who knew him and was one of the
first men who have resided in Nebraska any great length of time who could
die owing no man a dollar. His remains will be followed to there last
resting place tomorrow by his many neighbors and friends.
