One way to keep paint from running is to lay the work flat. Jim wanted a really good paint job on the door so he removed it and placed in on saw horses. Above he removes old finish and sands the door with a palm sander.
We wanted a door color which "stood out" while shopping one day at our hardware store of choice, we picked up a number of paint samples. The yellow house stands on a foundation of red-orange bricks, so an orange color was chosen.
We know right away this ain't the right color, no way. Jose.
Not wanting a visit from the local historical society, we rushed off to the store and acquired another color which was mellower but still had punch. In the interest of speed in replacing the color, Jim leaves the door hanging when he painted it.
