Don't be shy...I don't bite... I promise to be the best hostess on the block. I love entertaining and good company. That means you've done your part so now it's time for me to do mine. Have a cup of coffee & get something to munch on.I will try to furnish the enjoyment
Let me tell you about myself & my family. I am the daughter of 2 wonderful Christians. Dad was a church of Christ minister and was in poor health for quite a few years. But,when I was younger he was a ball of fire, in the pulpit & out.
He liked to fish, hunt, sing, play cards(not for money, though)& tell jokes. Some people tell me I'm a lot like him & I guess that's because he thought he had 3 SONS untill I was about 15. We enjoyed the same things. I loved to work in the yard and in the cabinet shop with him. I feel honored to be compared to Daddy in any way. I just wish I had taken after MAMA in the figure department. (Guests laugh here)
My Mother was probably the best example of what a REAL woman should be in everyday life. She raised 3 children, took care of both her parents, helped with Daddy's mother, did many, many, many "Good Works" for people, and above all, was the model Preacher's Wife. That takes a special gift!!! She was always a homemaker unashamed of the title. Everyone in the South thinks their Mom is the best cook in the world but, I know the real truth....it was my Mama.
I am remarried to the man I married almost 38 years. We were just babies when we married and had a hard time admitting it was a job to work on to stay committed to each other. There are good times and bad so, over-all I won't complain. We have 2 daughters, both grown and married with children of their own now. We had numerous "other" children through the years and have stayed in touch. We lost one of our "other" children 5 years ago, in a scuba diving accident. Suzi was a beautiful girl with 2 adorable children of her own. We still miss her but, keep her alive in our hearts & family memories.
My role as a parent didn't end when our youngest got married. We was blessed to have 2 of our grandchildren in our home. The adoption was final in Feburary, 1996. Even though they had lived with us all their lives, that was sure a "RED LETTER DAY".They are 18 & 19 years old and more of a handful than I remember kids being. We also have custody of our 15 year old grandson. But I would never have had it any other way. My Daddy told me the little ones would keep me young...I fear they are making me old. Either way, I love them.
We are also blessed with 4 grandchildren.
How rude of me!!! I just realized you're out of coffee. Well, make yourself at home, browse a little if you like. I'll be right back with a fresh pot of java and maybe a few surprises...Don't go away!!!!!

Since I last updated my HomePage, I have lost three of the dearest friends and best teachers I have ever had or ever will have. My Dad passed on from this world in September of 1998; my Mother in Feburary 2003 and my youngest brother in Feburary of 2004. I feel secure in the knowledge they are in a better place. Hopefully, in the near future, I will make the time to include a page of dedication to them and maybe even an audio of the last sermon Daddy was able to preach. It was fittingly titled "THE GREATEST SERMON EVER PREACHED" based on Jesus' Sermon on the Mount. Not only would this pay tribute to a wonderful and dedicated minister of the Gospel, it would also benefit any who choose to listen.
