Cybergoddess, Etienne,
gipsygirl, Kat, and Wintersong
As you enter, you are immediately struck by the comfort
and coziness. The center of the room is the 4 poster bed centered on a
raised dais. After all, the focus of a harem should be the bed. It is roughly
the size of 2 King's side by side. Diaphanous silks in various shades of
green and rose hang from the ceiling to cover the 4-poster. The sheets
are the softest of Egyptian Cotton in ecru with lace trim. The duvet cover
is a darker ecru on one side, and striped Hunter Green and ecru on the
other. Numerous pillows in all shapes and sizes are strewn at the head,
with various prints of the same stripes, green vines, rust and rose colored
Cabbage Roses and Irish laces.
A large bay window faces east to greet the sun, with
a window seat perfect for 2 upholstered in the same green vine pattern.
Throw pillows in the same prints as the bed are strewn about, and the seat
can be raised for additional storage of treasures and linens. Surrounding
the windows are intricate ivory lace curtains. Cashmere, the white and
brown feline, can usually be found stretched out enjoying the sun on the
window seat. On one side of the window seat is a light wood gliding rocker
with deep green cushions, with a large basket of threads and the current
cross-stitch project next to it - usually a baroque angel done on linen.
The other side of the window has an antique chaise, upholstered in the
Cabbage Rose pattern from the pillows.
One wall is a floor to ceiling bookcase - some shelves
filled to overflowing with novels, self-help books, romances, metaphysical
books, mysteries; others gathering nick-nacks that hold personal memories.
The open spaces on the remaining walls are tastefully decorated with priceless
paintings of the masters, as well as works by friends and former lovers.
(This is fantasy, right?)
The beautiful blonde hardwood floors are covered
with Persian rugs. Wouldn't want BFLG to chill those precious toes. In
one corner is a large, antique white ladies roll top desk holding the latest
in computer equipment, a CD player, (usually playing classic Jazz and anything
by Joe Dawson/Jim Burnes or show tunes), TV and VCR, and plenty of space
for writing. One wall is taken up by a similar antique white wardrobe,
which actually hides the entrance to a walk-in closet.
The large stone fireplace has a brilliant brass grate
in front, because Cashmere loves to explore in the ashes, and the goats
are not always keen on cleaning her up. (Maybe Cassieho can help.) The mantle
holds mementos from many of my and the Master's travels. Each side is flanked
by intricate moldings in the same vine pattern. In front of the fireplace
is a low table, to do Tarot readings for my Harem Sisters, while we are
comfortably nestled in more huge pillows of all sizes and designs.
The lighting is subdued; during the day, the sun
provides most of the illumination. In the evening, the stars are so brilliant,
who would want anything more. When additional lighting is necessary, candles
are preferred over all. On each side of the bed is a table, with a small
reading lamp, and stacks of books just waiting to be read. One table holds
an alarm clock (don't want to miss my turn with the Master).
The bathroom is done in barely pink marble. There
is a jacuzzi tub, with a separate shower, large enough to not need an enclosure
of any type. One wall holds the marble sink with brass fixtures and counter
top, and a large mirror housed in a white wood frame. Green plants hang
from the ceiling, and rest on the counter and around the bath. An assortment
of spa essentials are within easy reach.
So please, visit as long as you like. I love company,
and want my chamber to be a warm welcoming one. Many of my activities take
place in the common rooms or outdoors, as I enjoy so much the company of
my sisters. But, if the house is a rockin', don't come a knockin'. It will
be either Methos, or DM, or Joe, or one of the guys we picked up on our
shopping trip.... But then again, I am sworn to share......
My room would be cluttered with books, books, more
books. It would have X-File and Tori Amos posters all over the walls. Several
stuffed kitties sitting on my desk, bookshelves, books, TV, computer, bed,
etc. I'd also a few living cats hanging around me, since I wouldn't have
to worry about my mom's allergies or dorm policies anymore. I'd have stick
incense--vanilla, strawberry, cherry etc. There would be a bulletin board
decorated with bookmarks with cats on them. (They really shouldn't stick
those stupid things on racks next to the register when there s a line.)
I'd get myself a nice CD player, so I don't have to listen them on the
computer anymore. A ball of polished smoky quartz would sit on the desk
next to the computer, and I'd have white curtains on the windows.

Medieval decor - Dark Panelled walls. with a huge stain glass window of a gryphon. It is actuallt French doors and opens on to an English knot garden, mostly with lavender. Off to the right is the horse padddock so I can see the horses. Hanging on one wall is a large tapestry of a green dragon in flight. If you look behind the tapestry you will find the computer room. There is no bed just a large down mattress on the floor with pillows down in rich brocades (burgundy, hunter green & deep purple). By the window is a perch and sitting on the birch is my gyrfalcon. The floor is tile in the pattern of a pentagram done in gold, purple and BLUE! The room is lit by candlw scones in the wall. Along another wall is a large bookcase contain mostly fantasy - Mercedes Lackey, Anne Macaffrey etc. Playing on the CD is Clannad or Enya or other Celtic groups. Lying on the rug by the huge Fire place is an Irish Wolf hound and a Scottish Deer Hound.
The dark panelling came from a medieval church that
was being destroyed. The pentagram on the floor is used for my Wiccan religious
ceremonies (I always wanted to be one) so technically this is holy ground.
This way the Master will feel safe in my room. I fogot a closet for clothes.
It would have to be fairly largw because I have a few outfits that I wear
for Renfest. Right now I'm working on a 1860's hoop skirt. Next is an Edwardian
outfit. Now for the bathroom. When you walk in you notice the large sunken
tub done in tiles. When you look into the bottom of the tub you find a
dolphin mozaic at the bottom. If you look up at the ceiling you will see
a painting of fairies and elves as well as other fantasy animal dancing
in a fairy ring. This is what you would see if you lay in the tub. There
is a pale green sink and a large mirror above it. Also behind on the opposite
wall is a mirror so that I can see to french braid my hair.
