Just out back of the Castle you find the Oasis.........
The Oasis Arboretum
Orange and lemon trees add their scented profusion
to the heady fragrances of the jasmine, gardenia and roses which line your
path. Palm, ficus, and laurel trees stretch up towards the sun gleaming
through the expansive glass roof. Fountains nestle among the plants, the
quiet chuckle of the water a soothing counterpoint to the bright calls
of the tropical birds and the muted clatter of the fans overhead. Comfortable,
thickly padded wicker chairs and matching tables provide restful places
to sit and enjoy the beauty of these brilliant flowers and profuse foliage--a
peaceful haven from the world you now leave behind.
As you wandered further into this diverse garden,
your eye is drawn to the glitter at its center. Here an expanse of water,
almost as big a lake, spreads out before you. On one side a waterfall tumbles
into the pool; on the other, below a towering banyan tree, an elevated
area that looks remarkably like an ancient temple. To the rear of the altar,
just to your right, there are a set French doors flanked by two teak benches
amidst large potted palms.
Oasis stands open before you, inviting you to discover
the mysteries within.
The foliage walls open out onto a broad central seating
area. Your eyes rest easily on the quiet of the cream colored walls with
their white trim. The accent colors, shades of blues and greens, color
an assortment of soft denim pillows at rest on various pale Egyptian cotton
fabrics covering the overstuffed chaise lounges and couches. Their rattan
frames match the tables and chairs that settle together in numerous comfortable
groupings. Unbleached muslin curtains blow softly along the open front
wall of this spacious area. A series of sliding glass doors, which can
be tucked away into the supporting pillars, allow the gentle breezes a
way in. Above this gathering spot, the ceiling rises to wide skylights
which draw in the sun's radiance. At night, they bathe those gathered here
in moonlight.
Throughout this place, plants add their living colors
to the nooks and corners. Bowls of freshly cut flowers are placed on the
tables, near numerous lamps with brass, glass or ceramic bases. The hardwood-covered
hypocaust floor is left bare to allow its soothing radiant heat to fill
the room. Your bare toes stretch out as they feel the warmth beneath.
The Potion Pantry:
In the right corner, towards the glass front of Oasis,
the Potion Pantry ambles along the right wall. Have a seat at one of the
stools that meet the pantry's oak bar, and Aine will make you a tangy Damiana
Fizz. As you sip your drink, in front and to the left you see rose petals
spread out on their multiple level drying racks. Backlit by the large windows
in front of you, the prep counters of a full kitchen hold a varied collection
of herb-filled large glass jars. Each one with its handwritten label, will
be returned to it's place along the long shelving which extending to the
right. Cybergoddess is mixing the vanilla electuary you've ordered from
the extensive list of offerings to complete your plans with Master this
evening. Helen is busily preparing a tonic for a sister’s sore throat.
You turn and lean your back against the bar to face the rest of Oasis.
Directly across the central seating area, beginning at the front wall to
your right, the other three areas of Oasis stretch out to line this opposite
wall.
The health and well-being of Master and his friends,
as well as that of the Harem is what Oasis is all about. So naturally there
is a fully equipped fitness center. The gym equipment is top of the line
(of course!), and since it all went on Duncan’s credit card, ordering was
so easy! All we had to say was: "Just send us ..."
The Works:
When you walk through the entrance you can see most
of the gym. The glass wall to your right overlooks the garden around the
large outdoor pool. The floors are all hardwood. One part of the gym is
open, with the equipment needed for martial arts training hung on the wall -- a
la DM's dojo. Against the wall, is a complete set of circuit training machines
as well as free weights, slant boards and punching bags. As Chili Ice continues
to guide you through The Works, you come to a section divided from the
dojo area by a smoked glass wall. This section includes several treadmills,
stationary bikes, stair-steppers, rowing machines and versa-climbers. Handball
and squash/racketball courts are just off the full basketball court to
the back. Duncan just finished putting in the sound system for the gymnastics
room for Chili Ice, complete with trampolines, of course.
When you finish your work-out, indulge in a long,
steamy shower in one of the Works’ unique, man-made waterfalls or treat
yourself to a massage in:
The Needed Touch:
Just inside, Mab is checking her lightly scented aromatherapy oils and lotions. Of the many modalities now being offered under the name of massage therapy, here in Oasis our belief is that massage is a healing art. Massage can help to revitalize and restore your body's energy, enabling you to find a new and healthier state of balance. It is the application of skilled hands with an intuitive component. Within each comfortably warm and quiet room Mab can share with you just what the techniques of Swedish-Esalen, Shiatsu-Breema, reflexology or accupressure can offer you. Connected to the Needed Touch, but also accessible from the Arboreteum is...
Ethereal Pleasures:
To the right side of the atrium is a wall with a
series of boxes built into it. On each box the name of a sister is painted
upon an oval porcelain plate. For Methos and Mike, as well as for the Harem’s
most frequent "guests"--Duncan, Joe and Richie--the name plate has been
lovingly hand carved. Inside each, sit completed personal requests, for
your bath or for any other plans, from the Potion Pantry. Additional boxes
appear along the wall as necessary to make each Harem guest feel right
at home.
Here you will find the grand baths of the Harem:
relaxing, reviving, balancing and sensual. Each bath features large claw
foot tubs made for two (in case you need someone to scrub your back!) and
has the needed soaps, oils and lotions to evoke the desired feeling. The
Relaxing Bath is done in soft blues tones. Bath gels made of a blend of
sassafras, comfrey and sage with lavender oils can be added to the waters
to relax you. The reviving bath has been painted in a bright sunny yellow,
and the cabinets contain rosemary, lemon thyme and peppermint with the
orange oil to help refresh and rejuvenate. The balancing room is decorated
in a variety of beautiful soft greens, while the sensual bath is done in
rich, warm tones. In every room, thick, terry cloth robes await. Soft,
vanilla colored cotton towels are stacked in shelves.
Refreshed, relaxed or revived you may wish to take
advantage of Ethereal Pleasures’ other delights. Strings of the shell beaded
curtains cover a series of doorways....
Beyond this point, there are numerous rooms to choose
from, each one to be "created" in whatever manner you can possibly imagine.
From a charming Victorian London to the "simple" mystique of a Japanese
garden, the refreshing thrill of skiing the Swiss Alps to the steamy intrigue
of an Amazon jungle --the unique riches of any adventure you request is
yours in it all it's splendor.
The staff of Oasis wish you Bright Blessings!...and
Blue Frosting Dreams!
