Significant reletives: None
The Angel goes on many adventures with the X-Men, and almost wins Marvel Girl over, but she opts to be with Cyclops. Then, after being captured by the living mutant islang KRAKOA, he and the other X-Men(Cyclops, Iceman, Marvel Girl, Beast, Havok and Polaris) were rescued by the "new X-Men", Consisting of Banshee, Colosus, Nightcrawler, Storm, Thunderbird, Sunfire, and some little guy with an attitude problem and claws...Oh yeah, Wolverine! Afterward, along with most of the others, Warren "Graduates" from Xaviers School, and stays away for a while. Then, when the "Dark Phoenix" (An alien using Jean-Greys form) goes postal, Angel comes back to the team, but doesn't do much, then quits again.
He joins the Champions with Iceman(whose ranks also included Black Widow, Hercules, and Ghost Rider), then defenders along with Iceman(again?!?) and Beast, but that fell apart. Then the trio joined up with Cyclops and the "revived" Jean Grey(Marvel Girl) to create X-Factor, a government sanctioned team of mutants with the cover of being mutant bounty hunters. That cover doesn't last, and they reviel they're actualy trying to find new mutants to train in the use of thier powers. Then tragedy strikes. In a battle against Mr. Sinisters Marauders(see Mutant Massacre), Warren losses his wings, and later waked up to find them amputated, with most of his family fortune gone, and attempts suicide. (Take a deap breath and say this out loud) He gets in a plane, tries to crash it, but is "saved" by Apocalypse, who gives Warren blue skin, metalic wings with detachable stun feathers, a fetish for death and destruction, makes him into one of the Four Horsemen, and names Angel the Archangel of Death. -Whew-
After tossing his ex-teamates around for a few issues, Arcahngel realizes the error of his ways, and rejoins X-Factor, which, in turn, disbands and all the current members re-join the X-Men after a squirmish with the Shadow-King. (X-Factor is soon reformed under Havoks leadership).
Warren has had an on-off relationship with NYPD detective Charlotte Jones, but he broke things off with her and started going out with Psylocke (that two-timing bastard!). That's when Warren was double-struck. First, Sabretooth (who was under "house-arrest") escaped, nearly killing Psylocke. Then, while chasing Sabes, he slashed Archangel's right wing almost in two(!), leaving him to die. He didn't, but Psylocke almost did, but due to Dr.Strange's intervention (and a bunch of wierd magic stuff pertaining to Warrens love for Psylocke), she was saved, but then got a weird tatoo on her eye and started acting funny...
Anyway, Archangel was in constant pain until the remaining metal feathers flew off, only to unvail his real feathers underneath! Things are now starting to look up for Warren (who's been playing it smart and just sitting in his SoHo loft), but he's having more problems, like having the psychodellic Marrow having a "little" crush on him, and Betsy apearently turning to the dark side (It was revieled in a "days of future past" miniseries that Warren bets burned to death, and she joins the bad guys)... But oh well...
Warren is currently on leave form the X-men, having re-gained some of his famly fortune and is concentrating on running his financial empire, while looking after a power-less Betsy Braddok.
