ICEMAN
Real Name: Robert "Bobby" Drake
Powers: Iceman can freeze the moisture in the air around him, as well as encease himself in ice-armor. recently, he has been able to make every molecule inhis body into ice, and is imroving in the use of his powers every day.

Icemans origin is nothing spectacular. When he ws 15, he was going on a date with his girlfriend when they got mugged. In order to protect his girlfriend and himself, he used his ice powers to send the jerks running. Unfortunalty, they called the cops, saying that Bobby attacked THEM. Being a mutant, he knew the police wouldn't believe him, but he surrendered anyway. While awaiting trial, a "genophobic" mob gathered outside his cell, wanting to lynch him olden style. Cyclops came to his rescue, and after a brief scrirmish which Professor X stoped using his own powers, Iceman decided to become the second X-Men.
Bobby played the part of the class clown, always being silly and messing up, using his powers to make icecream and to look like a snowman. He neve pushed himself, and stayed at a sub-standard power level for a long time.
He stayed with the team for a while, but then when the new X-men came along, he went to get his degre in accounting. however, adventure was Bobbys true calling, and joined up with the defenders, and later the champions, and even later, the newley formed X-Factor. It was durring this time that Loki, The half-brother of the asgardian god of thunder THOR, tried to make Icaman into an ice beast to serve him and defeat Thor. However, Bobby soon broke Loki's spell, but was budened with out-of-control powers which could only be held in check with a special suit. He eventualy overcame this curse and went back to normal.
Bobby and the rest of X-Factor (Cyclops, Jean, Archangel, and Beast, also the origional X-Men) eventualy re-joined the X-Men when the Shadow King started being naughty. They saved the X-Men just as the "new" X-Men saved them years before form Krakoa, and they joined the team. Bobby couldn't care less. He just keeped being a clown. However, all that was about to change...
The White Queen, who had been in a coma and recuperating at Xaviers for a few years, was just sleeping in bed with Iceman watching over her, when an electic pulse (caused by Beast playing with the power core)shot up through Emma and into Bobby. The white Queen had regained conciousness... INSIDE icemans body. She almost killed him, pushing his powers beyond his previous limit. She pulled such stunts as freezing a whole river, surviving a gunshot wound, and turning his body into a walking arsenal. Xavier put her mind back in the right place, but now everyone knew the truth. Bobby was a real lazy slacker. Worse more, he found out his own father hated him for being a mutant. Ouch.
Bobby tried his best to increase his powers, and just in time, too. An encounter with Post (no, not the cereal company!), an emmisary of Onslaughts- left Iceman with a huge hole in his chest, making him afraid to change back into human form. He attacked the white queen as a lst ditch effort to learn to fully utilize his powers, and through some "persuasion", he was able to return to normal. Whatever normal is.
He prettymuch stayed side-lined after that, until Bobby volentered to spy on Graydon Creed, who was running for president. Iceman Posed as "drake Robberts", an aide to Mr. Creed, while Cannonball served as an assistant as "Samson Guthry". (How origional...) However, while on a talk show, Graydon made his anti-mutant agenda clear, and BOBBYS FATHER stood up in the back and said some not-nice things about anti-mutant folks, bringing a tear of joy to bobbys eye. However, Creed found out who the geezer was, and had him beat almost half to death, and making sure Bobby found the body. Creed was assasinated soontherafter, and Bobby left the X-Men for a while to care for his father.
However, his break wouldn't last. Half the team was MIA in space, adn the other half was captured by Operation: Zero Tolerance, who was given permission to eradicate mutants. Bobby went to the aid of Cecilia Reyes, a doctor in an improvised NY neighborhood. She was attacked by Prime Sentinals, but even though Iceman saved her, she still hated him. They eventualy alied up with Marrow and Sabra, and took Bastion down with a last minute assist by S.H.I.E.L.D.
He stayed with the X-men a little longer after that, but has recently returned home (long island, to be exact) to take care of his father.
