Book Reviews
Now that summer is here and kids are out of school, reading becomes more important.
Why?
Because it's so easy to just say..."GO OUTSIDE!"
Encourage reading! How much? As much as possible!
For the infant/toddlers' group, give them as much as they want and as much as is
possible with your schedule. You'll probably want to stop before they do.
For the preschool-first grade and the 2nd-4th grade groups, at least a half hour a day.
If they want to do more then great!
5th-8th grade and older, No less than an hour a day. You'll find that
they will start to get absorbed in some books and not stop at one hour.
A set time to read isn't a bad idea either. Try the time period after dinner.
I think this tends to be better than the last minute, before I go to bed, so I get to
stay up longer time period.
Most importantly, have fun with reading!
