Here's a very short Debt II commentary.
Quotes Worthy of Bardliness
Can't We All Get Along?:
"I am the scourge that your gods sent to punish your people."
--Xena (The Debt II)
Drastic Times Call For Drastic Measures:
"Would you kill a mosquito with an axe?"
--Lao Ma (The Debt II)
It Gets My Juices Going:
"Everyone has their preferences. I happen to like a good kill."
Xena (The Debt II)
If Only He Knew:
"He is very clever. She was a stupid thug."
--Ming Tzu (The Debt II)
Miscellany:
Fashion Fad or Fashion Faux Pas
This season's line of Chin clothing is reminiscent of the wooden stock look, but has now been updated to the door look. No more hassles with how to wear it without bending over. The wooden door look allows you to walk around with it and hold you head up high (well, as high as you can).
Indian Giver?
Was Lao Ma an Indian Giver or something? In The Debt I, she took Xena's hair brooch, then gives it back. Then in part 2, she takes it out to destroy a vase. Later she gives it back. Then apparently she got it back again or Ming Tien wouldn't have had it. She finally lets Xena keep it so she can use it on Ming Tien. Boy that gets confusing.
Oy Vey! It's Xena!
Nice double take young Ming Tien did when he realized Xena was serving them. It also looked like Lao Ma was about to break out laughing when Ming Tzu was insulting Xena when she was right behind him.
The Wisdom of Lao Ma Part 2
- The entire world is driven by a will--blind & ruthless.
- To conquer others is to have power. To conquer yourself is to know the way.
- Just because we give birth to them, doesn't mean we own them.
- In order to trascend the limitations of that world, you have to stop willing, stop desiring, stop hating.
Turns Out You're Just a Stupid Fool
Ming Tien wasn't too bright (duh!). After Xena redecorates his place he starts talking bad about Lao Ma, calling her a "sentimental fool". If anyone knows anything, once you mess with Xena's friends & family, you're pretty much dead. Couldn't he see she wasn't in the best mood for his small talk?
Space, the Final Frontier
Did Ming Tien take lessons from James T. Kirk?! I mean with lines like, "The SENtence is de-ath." He really annoyed me with the way he talked.
Yahtze!!
Loved that winner gets a body part dice game. What a way for Borias to get out of it, "I give you my heart."
