At the sundancechannel
homepage you will find all the spots (13) Casey directed in realmedia -format. I
didn`t have the time yet to look at them, but the girl who told me about the link said
that Joaquin isn`t in them. But they are definitely worth a look, don`t you think? Casey
Affleck directed them, and they are appearances by Vince Vaughn, Ryan Phillippe, Reese
Witherspoon, Matt Damon, Christina Ricci, Gus Van Sant, and many more ... (like the info
below says).

JOAQUIN PHOENIX TALKS TURKEY
November 11, 1999 (from www.peta.com)
PETA Pulls Out All the Stops to Promote Veggie Thanksgiving
Washington -- "Holidays can be murder on turkeys. Let's make this one for the
birds," urges film star Joaquin Phoenix, who has been an ethical vegan since he was 4
years old and is now urging everyone to give vegetarian fake turkey a chance. The
full-color ad will appear on November 12 in the Washington City Paper and run in 14 other
cities around the country.
In September, Phoenix received a Humanitarian Award at PETA's "Party of the
Century" in Los Angeles for starring in PETA's first-ever commercial (available on
Beta or VHS). "I would love to stop the murder of turkeys," he says. "I'm
letting people know that they can enjoy the tradition of Thanksgiving without the
cruelty." Phoenix starred in 8mm, Return to Paradise, To Die For, and Clay Pigeons.
He especially loves winter vegetables but also recommends faux fowl like UnTurkey and
Tofurky. According to Phoenix, they "give you the taste of turkey without subjecting
the birds to factory farming, transport, and slaughter."
In addition to Phoenix's ads, PETA will encourage a veggie celebration by offering
Tofurky to more than 300 homeless shelters across the country so that hungry and homeless
vegetarians can also celebrate Thanksgiving. PETA's giant turkey mascot will travel to
supermarkets throughout the states to promote a cruelty-free holiday, and PETA is also
holding a contest on its Web site in which participants can win a free Tofurky or
Unturkey. Fiona Apple is spreading the pro-veggie message on PETA's "Holiday
Hotline" by encouraging people to call Butterball's turkey hotline and tell the
company that "there is no appropriate way to kill and cook these beautiful
birds." Even the first family will receive a Tofurky so that vegetarian first
daughter Chelsea can enjoy a delicious and nutritious meal on the holiday.

Joaquin in Battlestar Galactica?
Look, what I found in the european magazine "Ahead":
"TV Adaptations on the big screen:
....Battlestar Galactica: Glen A. Larson, creator of the TV series and responsible for
Magnum, is the producer of this 50 million-dollar-film. Brian Dennehy plays Commander
Amanda, Ben Affleck plays Captain Apollo, Joaquin Phoenix is Lieutenant Starbuck and
Denise Richards is Cassiopeia in the fight against Cylones. Lorne Greene, we miss
you!"
I never heard about that before, did anyone of you?
