The 'Related Links' box above and the titlebar 'Site Links' box use CGI Form inputs and a short Java script to navigate this site.

First click on the down arrow to show a list.

Select an item from the list by clicking on it.

Then click the 'View' button to see it.

Another way to navigate is to float a seperate window with access menus in it.

Windows 95 Hidden Treasures

Expand Your Sendto Options

When Microsoft set up the 'Sendto' folder in your 'Windows' folder, it contains shortcuts to a few locations. You can add shortcuts to this folder, to customize your system. The first shortcut I added was to Notepad. Then my Windows folder. Then my favorite graphics viewer. There has to be a program you use everyday, that deserves a place in this folder, then access to it is a right-click away.

Quick Formatting

To format a new floppy, put the disk in the drive, open 'My Computer', right click on the drive icon. From the menu, select 'Format...'. You can match the disk capacity, then do a quick erase of the disk, or a full formatting, or make the disk bootable by copying the system files.

Disk Copying

To make an exact copy of a disk, put the original disk in the drive, open 'My Computer', right click on the drive icon. From the menu, select 'Copy Disk...'. Press 'Start' to begin the copying. The system will prompt you to insert the target (new) disk when needed.

Three Handy Disk Tools

Disk tools can be accessed by a right click on any drive icon in 'My Computer'. Click on 'Properties', and 'Tools', to access 3 disk tools. You can

  • test the disk for errors,
  • backup the disk information,
  • or defragment the disk.

Taskbar Options

Right click on the clock for access to time, date, and open windows options; cascade, tile, minimize all, or access the taskbar properties.
