Family Involvement
Strong family support is a crucial factor is children's academic success. When families value education, children place more value on it. The time parents spend working with children, checking homework, and reading to them, is some of the most valuable education that children receive.
Project SEED creates opportunities for families and students to work and play together learning mathematics successfully and enjoying it. Project SEED offers math workshops for families that address real-life situations and address the topics that parents often assist students with in homework. Project SEED also hosts activities in which whole families can participate such as basketball tournaments. Project SEED activities such as essay contests offer students the opportunity to express how Project SEED experiences connect to other aspects of their life, their community, and their future. Lastly, SEED invites families to celebrate the achievements of their students through award celebrations where students perform, show off their knowledge, and receive certificates of achievement. All of these activities encourage families to be more active in the academic success of their children by demonstrating their support for their children and their education.
