Universities and Project SEED

StudentsUniversity Connections Project SEED is working for better education for our country. One aspect of improving education for students is reaching students at the university level who are excited about mathematics and willing to learn effective ways to teach children. Project SEED has always been involved in many aspects of university teaching from its earliest association with the University of California at Berkeley where the initial nucleus of Project SEED began. Project SEED's founder Bill JohntzProfessor cartoon was a graduate of and associated with the faculty of UC Berkeley and most of the earliest recruits to Project SEED teaching were professors and graduate students from UC Berkeley.

Project SEED has trained mathematics professors in effective instructional strategies to reach students. These professors can then more positively reach their students and share their love of mathematics. Project SEED has also trained pre-service classroom teachers and the education faculty at universities and worked with universities in defining the set of requirements that include critical mathematical and methodological material for pre-service teachers to more effectively reach students. Project SEED has provided these services and others to universities including Harvard University, San Jose State University, and Monmouth College.

In furthering the education of graduate level students, Project SEED has also developed curriculum for graduate courses. These courses have been added to the catalogue and taught at universities such as Emory University in Atlanta.
