Harmony Masonic Lodge No.22 A.F.M. News Letter for month of July 2003

Greetings Brethren,

Greetings Brethren,

I hope that you are all enjoying our summer as much as I am enjoying mine.  First I need to inform you all that there is a First Degree on Wednesday July 23, 2003 and that degree will begin at 7:30 pm with a meal before the work begins.  We can use some help, if you don’t have plans please come and give us a hand.

The next item coming up in the social calendar is Ladies Night and the Lodge Anniversary which we will be celebrating in September, the date has not been confirmed as yet but I am working on it and will publish it in the next newsletter.  We will be celebrating these events in the banquet hall of the Ramada limited (the old Holiday Inn), and Steve Brown will be catering the event.  We will be selling tickets for the dinner; the cost will be $10.00 per person.  There will be after dinner entertainment to close the evening.  As we get closer I will publish a menu for the evening.  And everyone please plan to attend this is the first time we have tried this outside the lodge and we are looking for this to be a special event.

Lastly, I apologize to the brethren for the tardiness of the past few newsletters; I have been out of town attending classes and am trying to play catch up with my duties when I return before I have to leave again.  I do appreciate your understanding.

I have survived the first 6 months as your master, and look forward to the next 6, if there is any way I can better serve you please contact me and I will do what I can as your devoted master.

            Brethren:

The two tickets below are being sent with this Newsletter, to inform all of our members that our ladies night will be held as noted on the ticket.  Wor/Bro Krob hopes that this will bring more members out to an evening of fellowship and entertainment, not in the Lodge with the officers preparing the food.  We will also be celebrating our 247th Birthday.  Please send you check for the tickets in order that we may have a number attending to give to Steve Brown, who will be catering the meal.  We look forward to seeing a good number in attendance.  Our Widows will be given a ticket.  If you can not attend but would like to make a donation to the Lodge, it would be greatly appreciated.  Please respond as soon as possible that we can finalize the arrangements with Steve and the motel.  The date on the ticket may change as noted when it is confirmed with the motel and Steve Brown, the caterer.  They will be honored on the date when confirmed.

A message from our Editor

Brethren:

I still need to hear from our membership, in regards to this news letter. Just a few questions at this time. Do you read the newsletter in order to find out what is going on in the Lodge? Does your wife read it? Do you just set it aside without taking a little time to read about YOUR Lodge? Have you forgotten how to get into the Lodge? These questions may seem to be a bit embarrassing to answer. You should not feel that way, we all tend to forget some things that we use to do, but have gotten out of the habit of attending.
Brethren, a Lodge is not just a building, it is an assemblage of Masons gathering together in peace and harmony that they may enjoy the fellowship one with another. Harmony Lodge, YOUR Lodge has some fine young Master Masons elected and appointed to fill the offices of the Lodge. We know that it is very hard today for young men to get involved in organizations that takes some time away from their home-life. Our offices are going their best to fulfill their duties, however there is something missing in the Lodge.
I think by now you know where I am going with this message. As I stated before, a Lodge is an assemblage of Masons gathering together in peace and harmony that they may enjoy the fellowship one with another. You guessed it, the members are missing, without it’s members in attendance, it is just a building. We need you in attendance at our meetings and degree work. We have a number of E/As, and some new petitions, and your assistance is greatly needed. Please come out and be with us, only then can you really realize what you have as a Master Mason. Give us a call, let us know your feeling, and what we need to do in order to increase our attendance.
