I was recently told that a young man by the name of Chad Simmons was stabbed to death in August of 1997. I would like to know more about this individual because him and I were good friends when he lived in Alpharetta, Ga. When I had met a friend from McDonough, I quickly asked him if he knew Chad and he said that he knew a Chad Simmons who had gone to Henry County High School. If at all possible, please send me some information regarding this issue. I would just like to know if this Chad Simmons was the one I had grown up with. Thank you for your time. Seeking any information regarding: Gabriel FREEMAN (b.bef.1770-d.31 Jan 1834) married Lucy FREEMAN(b.bef.1774-d.03 May 1826). Not sure if they were related before marriage. They married in Wilkes County Georgia on 06 Sep 1794. Have copy of permission slip from Lucy's father, signed John FREEMAN. It is believed that Gabriel and Lucy migrated to Newton County, and is thought that he and she may be buried there. Children were: Bailey M (d.1852), Archibald, Providence (d.aft.1890), John, Josiah, Beverly Allen (b.abt.1806-d.1855). Bailey was a Methodist minister. Providence married Arthur RANDALL in 1826, died in Ellijay, and is shown in the 1870 Census in Ellijay as 78 yrs old. Bevery A. married Mary Ann Reynolds MURRAY in 1832 in Henry County and he died in Ellijay. Bevery was a lawyer and fought in the Creek Indian War in 1836 under Capt. Gilbert GREER and under Julius ALFORD. Main help would be names for parents of Gabriel FREEMAN and/or Lucy FREEMAN. Pictures and other data on my web site.

I am searching for any and all information about a Kennedy family. A John C Kennedy born in Elbert County Ga moved to Henry County in 1824. He then moved to Bradley County, Tenn where he died. His five children, Robert C, William F, James A, Joseph M and Elizabeth moved back to Loganville, Walton County, Ga in the late 1840’s, early 1850’s. Two of the brothers were Post Master of Loganville. They apparently moved between Henry, Walton and Newton Counties on various occasions. James A Kennedy and Joseph M Kennedy bought a mill in Newton County in 1867. Joseph’s son Edward Foster Kennedy was born in Newton County. Researching Franklin Alfred MARTIN, Sr. b. 1808 in GA; married Frances Lucinda BATES on 09 SEP 1830 in Henry Co., GA. Suspect Franklin Alfred MARTIN's father to be Thomas O. MARTIN, b. abt 1774 in VA married around 1799. By 01 JAN 1811, Thomas was living in Columbia Co., GA; 1820 Columbia Co., GA census indicates 3 M & 3 F children, but NO wife. Suspect she died prior to 1820. 13 JAN 1822 Thomas MARTIN married Rebecca KING in Columbia Co., GA. They had two children, William C. & Anderson A. 06 APR 1822 info from Henry Co., GA Deed Record Book A, Pg. 287 indicates daughters Ellenor, Sarah, and Eliza (Children by first marriage?). Thomas MARTIN lived in Henry Co., GA in the 1830, 1840, & 1850 censuses. He did NOT appear in the 1860, suspect he had passed away.
