Looking for information on Owen C. Coggin and wife Sarah C. Mills. Believed to be in Toccoa, GA in the mid l800s. Owen's birthdate was Sept. 30, l8l8. Sarah's birthdate was Feb. 6, l820.

Seeking descendants of Yerby/Irby/Erby Stroud who died and is buried in Henry Co. Georgia, he was son of William Stroud b. c. 1731 Ireland, who with wife Sarah migrated to Charleston S. Car. from Belfast on the ship "Snow Betty Gregg" left Ireland 4 Oct 1767 arrived 2 Feb 1768. William Stroud received land in Craven Co. S. Car. 450 acres on Rockey Creek, which later became Camden Dist. then Chester Co. S. Car. He, after the hanging of his eldest son William Jr. by the British, joined the Revolution and served as a militia man, providing a wagon for transport of weapons. He was wounded with a musket ball in the shoulder, which migrated to his hip, and was removed with surgery. The Rev. William Martin noted the names of William Stroud's sons, William Jr. , John, Thomas, Hampton, Hardy, Erby, Ransom, Anzel and the girls...(one of whom is Nancy, who first married a Wall, was widowed and remarried John Morris, in Wilson Co. Tenn. her brother Ransom Stroud witnessed the marriage. Erby Stroud married Jane Kitchen and migrated to Georgia, his other sister also married a Kitchen, (probably brother of Jane.) Seeking more information and willing to exchange mine.

John Hammons(son of Isaac) was born 10-21-1818 in Morgan county, GA and married Jane G. Cleveland (daughter of Rice and Barbara Stalnaker Cleveland) on 11-21-1847 in Henry county. Their children were William Rice, James Milton, Emma, Ira Ann Elizabeth, John Henry and Isaac Franklin (Doc) Hammons. Isaac Franklin (Doc) married Mary S. Hooten (daughter of Moses Hooten and Nancy A. Hunt) of Henry county. Especially interested in the Hammons line, but would be interested in any info others may have. Some of the Hammons relatives spell name Hammond and Hammon.

Henry English (Stephen, John, William) born 8/25/1793 and died 8/5/1863 in Locust Grove, Henry county GA. Married (1) Elizabeth (Betsey) Haynes (daughter of Henry and Sarah Greer Haynes), (2) Katharine Martin (daughter of Joseph and Anne Martin) and (3) Lucinda Williams. Henry lived good portion of life in Henry county. Family tradition states he taught at Oxford (now part of Emory University). He also was clerk for Beersheba Church of Christ. He had 15 children by 3 wives: John Henry, Stephen, Lucy, Sarah, Dinah, Nancy, Jane, Polly, George Lewis, ?, Joseph Parlemas, Steven Madison, James Henry, Sarah Kaziah, and William Henry. Would appreciate info on any of the lines.

John Hammons (father Isaac) born 10/21/1818 and died 8/4/1906 in Downsville, La married Jane Cleveland (daughter of Rice and Barbara Stalnaker Cleveland)on 11/21/1847. All from Henry county. Their children were: James Milton, Emma, Ira Ann Elizabeth (Lizzie), John Henry, Isacc Franklin (Doc) and William Rice Hammons (also Hammond. Isaac Franklin married Mary S. Hooten (daughter of Moses and Nancy Hunt Hooten) of Henry county. Most of family moved to Louisiana. We are very interested in Henry county history since we just found six family lines go through there. Any information appreciated.

Duke/Simms/Sims: A.W. Sims/Simms b. 10/8/1819 - 3/17/1895 Jane E. Duke 10/21/1828 -11/18/1904 They are buried in the Elliott Cemetery in Henry Co. They married in Newton County. When they married they have Jane's name as Martha J. E. Duke and A. W. as Alfred Simms. The only children I have are Jennie(Johnson) & Francis(Fannie)(Elliott). There were other children.I would like to know who the parents were of A.W. Sims & Jane E. Duke. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Deborah

Looking for parents and siblings of Edmon B. ESTES, born in 1850. Edmon B. ESTES is believed to be one and the same as E. B. ESTES, son of Noel Matthews ESTES, born in 1819 in Greenville, South Carolina and later moved to Henry County, Georgia. In 1869 in Morgan County, Alabama, Edmon B. ESTES married Nancy STUART of Alabama. It is believed that this ESTES family is one and the same as Edy ESTES family shown in 1880 census in Cullman County, Alabma, with family members including Edy Estes, age 30, born in Georgia; Nancy, age 30; John, age 10; Rebecca, age 8; Jane, age 7; Alice, age 6; Letta, age 3; and unnamed female Estes, age 1. All of the children, as well as their mother, Nancy, and her parents were born in Alabama. In 1888 in Cullman County, Alabama, Rebecca ESTES married James O. "Jim" PERRY. Information about this ESTES family will be greatly appreciated.
