Researching surname STOKES,(SLAVES) Oral history says they grew up on a plantation near or around Barnesville, Griffin Ga. possible planatation's owner name could be Williams, Milner, Pitts, Philips, I can't seem to find any early Stokes plantation owners in this area. Some of my ancestors first names could consist of James, John,Mingo, Minerva, Oscar, Willis, George, Effie, Emily,Sam,Lewis, James,any help would be most welcome.c1830-1860

GREER: Looking for any information about the parents of Nancy Katherine Greer (Nancy married James Mury on 13 Feb. 1831) and Mary Ann Greer (Mary Ann married Arza Murray on 15 Apr. 1832). Marriage records published by Frances T. Ingmire - 1822 - 1850 Henry Co., Ga. These two men were brothers and we cannot explain the difference in the spelling but should be Murray. Nancy & Mary Ann's mother was named Elizabeth ? Greer. Mary Ann listed as born in Tennessee in 1850 GA. Census.

Looking for information on BLANKENSHIP family. Jim Blankenship married to Mary (don't know her maiden name). They had a daughter named Georgia Elza Blankenship b. 1878, who married Levi Payne Ricks b.1871. Their daughter, Maggie Mae Ricks b. 1902 married Lee Roy Goss b. 1895. Lee Roy was the son of Charlie Curtis Goss b. 1864 and Lucy Jane Cook b. 1859.

I am seeking information on JOSEPH NEWT WILLIAMS, Jr. & Sr. J. N. Williams, Sr. died in GA during the Civil War of smallpox. So I assume J. N. Williams, Jr. was born before 1867 but can't find either person's place of residence. Newt Williams, Jr. married Manola Haynes and they had twins Neely and Deely who I believe died young, Martha Augusta (1892), Newman, Sadie, and Jeff. Any help is appreciated.
