Seek information on Zadoc MARTIN listed as age 43 on the 1850 Henry Co., census with wife Elizabeth born 1812 and dau. Anna E. born in 1845 and son Joshua L. born 1849. In 1860 this family was in Spalding County. It is believed that this man was the Zadoc who purchased from the estate of Adam Laswon in 1826 in Butts Co. and that he was the son of Zadoc MARTIN and Peggy ROBINSON, grandson of Joshua MARTIN who died in Greene Co., in 1803.

On Aug 3, 1835, James Messer sold to 5 Trustees of the Methodist Protestant Church at Island Shoals in Henry County one acre more or less for $200 trustees being Gustavus Hendrick of Butts County, Isham Weaver of Newton County, John W. Messer, Beverly B. Bohannon and John Betterton. Wit: William Messer and duncan colquhoun J. P. Recorded Sept 7, 1835. My question? My greatgreatgrandparents, Luke Leland New and Elizabeth Allen, were married in Newton County in 1848. Their son Eli Crofford New was my greatgrandfather. His wife, my greatgrandmother, was Sarah Angeline Huckaby. Their son Henry Crofford New was my grandfather. Anybody know why this New family left Georgia and wound up in north Louisiana -- Claiborne Parish?

Jesse Bentley, Revolutionary War Veteran, came to Henry County early from Greene County. He was married to Mary Scott Townsend in Wilkes Co., GA in 1784. Also, their oldest son, John T. Bentley, was a state legislator and JIC in Henry County. John T. married (1)Polly Maxey and (2)Nancy Carroll. He was the father of 8 children by Polly and 4 by Nancy. His sons were Thomas L., James F., Milton M., W.D.C., William H.H., and Oliver Hamilton. His daus., Louisa, m. Wm. Helms, Mary Ann m. (1)Lemuel Atkinson and ___Colley, Althea J. m. Wm. H. Searching for info on Robert C. Chappell - Mary Elizabeth Kimbell and family. I'd like to know if he served in the Civil War. Robert died and is buried in Henry County. Mary moved with some of her children to Ffyfe, Dekalb County, Alabama where she is buried. Looking for Paul Turner of McDonaugh Georgia Born in Oct 1869 Parents Allen W Turner and Elizabeth Speer. Married Josephine Tye of Atlanta Georgia. Josephines parents Dr. and Mrs. LM Tye. Paul was one of the youngest on the Georgia state Senate in 1900. He was a member of the House of Reps. for 2 terms. He had 5 children Robert, Paul, Daugters Josephine and Mrs. Lamar Etheridge, Mrs DT Fulton. I know he died around November 15, but not the year and he was buried in the city cementary in McDonaugh

Henry County Cemeteries Please help. I am searching for information on a cemetery with unmarked graves located near the intersection of Pate's Creek and I-75. I don't have direct access to a Henry County cemetery survey, if one exists. Is this a family cemetery? Whose family? Any suggestions for other avenues to search?
