Harmony Masonic Lodge No.22 A.F.M. News Letter for month of September 2003

Greetings Brethren,

Greeting Brethren All:

First I need to inform you of an Entered Apprentice Degree on Thursday August 28, 2003 at 7:30 PM, we will serve a meal before the work. On this night we are putting two candidates through, please come and give us a hand.

Other news, we have all of our other Entered Apprentices back from the Desert and will be working with them to get them ready to finish their work.

Our Ladies Night and Lodge Anniversary Celebration has been set for September 12, 2003 at 7:00 PM, the meal will be served at 7:30 PM with entertainment to follow. Tickets below were also in our August newsletter, if you have not sent in your check for them yet, please do so ASP that we will know the number to give to the caterer.

Our District Deputy Grand Master Right Worshipful Dave Parker made an official visit bringing greeting from the Grand Lodge of Ancient Free Masons of South Carolina. He informed the brethren present that the Grand Lodge is in dire financial troubles and requested that those who could contribute to please make a donation to the Grand Lodge. This should be done through our Lodge Secretary, so that the Lodge will have a record of same.

Brother I am interested in doing some kind of fundraiser for the Grand Lodge and would like to get some input on the different types of fund raising activities we can under take for our Grand Lodge. Please send your ideas to krob@islc.net or mail them to the lodge.

Finally brother I wish you well and look forward to seeing you in lodge.

Respectfully submitted,
Rick A. Krob, Worshipful Master Harmony # 22 AFM

A message from our Editor

Brethren:

I still need to hear from our membership, in regards to this news letter. Just a few questions at this time. Do you read the newsletter in order to find out what is going on in the Lodge? Does your wife read it? Do you just set it aside without taking a little time to read about YOUR Lodge? Have you forgotten how to get into the Lodge? These questions may seem to be a bit embarrassing to answer. You should not feel that way, we all tend to forget some things that we use to do, but have gotten out of the habit of attending.
Brethren, a Lodge is not just a building, it is an assemblage of Masons gathering together in peace and harmony that they may enjoy the fellowship one with another. Harmony Lodge, YOUR Lodge has some fine young Master Masons elected and appointed to fill the offices of the Lodge. We know that it is very hard today for young men to get involved in organizations that takes some time away from their home-life. Our offices are going their best to fulfill their duties, however there is something missing in the Lodge.
I think by now you know where I am going with this message. As I stated before, a Lodge is an assemblage of Masons gathering together in peace and harmony that they may enjoy the fellowship one with another. You guessed it, the members are missing, without it’s members in attendance, it is just a building. We need you in attendance at our meetings and degree work. We have a number of E/As, and some new petitions, and your assistance is greatly needed. Please come out and be with us, only then can you really realize what you have as a Master Mason. Give us a call, let us know your feeling, and what we need to do in order to increase our attendance.
