My fave tv shows

My ultimate all-time faves

(Not in order unless stated otherwise!)

All-time faves

1. The Late Show
(Aussie show-defunct. My favourite bits: Mick & Tony's street interviews; esp. the ones for the National anthem, best & worst dressed people. Rob's impersonations; esp. Gareth Evans, Dick Smith, FW deClerk, Desmond Tutu, John Fahey. The dinner party sketches, The different versions of the National Anthem on The Late Show News. Music video sendups; esp. Vanilla Ice, Frente, Ween. Rush-(all those Playschool references! Chances. It was clever) Mick & Tony's intros-(never as boring as Dave Letterman!!!!! Bloody hell he can go on about nothing and make it sound completely like shit. Mick & Tony can go on about nothing and be totally hilarious! Look n'learn Dave!) Healthy Wealthy & Woggy. There's just too much that was good on this show! )
2. The Completely Mental Misadventures of Ed Grimley
(cartoon series created by Martin Short, I must say! I can't find a damn thing on the net about it, can anyone help out with finding pictures etc? I'd like to see his show but I think it's only on Foxtel and we get Optus-because it has NHK-Japanese channel)
3. The Wonder Years
(I haven't really seen much of the later episodes tho'. Pity how Kevin became all bulbous-nosed and Paul just became ugly! They were all so cute when they were young! Becky Slater always reminded me of this girl in highschool-Rebecca something-or-other! I just realised the sister from Parker Lewis was the girl that liked Kevin. Really short! I always thought Julie Condra(?) was really pretty-the "older woman" that fellf for Kevin-as if! She looked likes like a babysitter next to Kevin!)
4. The D-Generation
(Aussie show-defunct. Most of the same poeple from TLS. Some defected to Fast Forward. Dipshits! Used to think John Harrison was hot!)
5. Dr. Katz
(It's just funny! And it's cool how they're all 'real' people! Do they have to come up with the material themselves? My fave character so far is the little guy what's-his-name who talked slowly. "When you were in jail did u make any 'special' friends? Cos that's what I heard goes on there." "Oh my god! I left Beverly out!" "I wanna be super rich. I'll be like walking down the street and I'll be like 'I wanna buy your dog!' 'My dog's not for sale' and then I'll take out like a hundred thousand dollars 'I think I'll call him Harry' and he'll be like 'Go to your new master Harry!' " Do you know the one I mean? He went on about sex a lot. I also liked the guy talking about pita bread. Laura's a bitch!)

Later: I can't believe they cancelled the show! Dammit! You bastards!
6. Beavis & Butt-head
(True story: I was in New York, Barnes and Noble bookstore, and I was intending to buy all these B&B books so I had them in my hand, u know, holding them against my chest-like-a-textbook-kinda way and we go downstairs and we walk out the door...and halfway down the street I'm like "Huh? What are these? Oh, I didn't pay for them! How come the alarm didn't go off?! How come the security guy didn't say anything?!" (security guy was right next to the exit) And then I just kept on walking! Oops. I must have had that confident "yeah I bought these" kind of look on my face?!)
7. Seinfeld
(George was my favourite character and if I wanna see a spin-off, it'd be with him!)
The Simpsons
Monkey Magic
(I used to watch this all the time! All young'uns should not miss an opportunity to watch this classic. I loved all the songs, ok, there were like, 3. The main theme which they used for all the happy scenes and all the fighting/action scenes. The sad song that 'Monkey' sings-whenever he's been punished, someone's crying or someone dies. And the ending theme-in Japanese and English on alternative episodes! I actually have the two themes but I really want the sad song. It's cool!
I also think that the actual actors might have done the voices but then again their English wouldn't have been that good. The voices sound just like how they really sound! All except Tripitaka are still in showbiz-she died! Some kind of blood disease-doesn't clot. Anyway, Pigsy is really fat now! But he can sing and he's a good dancer-like how John Travolta is only fatter. Monkey used to be in a group called the Spiders-when the Beatles were popular so similar music. He does a lot of host work. He's funny! Sandy used to be in a group too. The Tigers. He has a bro' who was also in the group. Sandy was the Ringo, even more-so-he played the tambourine! And backing vocals.)
Later 28/6/05 I just recently rented the entire series and am watching it again. I really do think the original Japanese actors are doing their English voices! It's so amazing...
The Norm Show/Norm
I like Norm MacDonald. He's pretty cool. I've never seen him on SNL but I saw him present an award at the Blockbuster Video Awards and that's where it all began. "You waited 'til it was out on video-you cheap bastards!" I've heard there's beena n ongoing campaign to get Norm to hist the Oscars-I think that'd be so cool! He would be a welcome breath of fresh air. I didn't mind Whoopi - "I've always wondered what the colour of my wind is" and looks behind her quickly.
16/2/01 Um, where did this show go?! Hardly gave it a chance here in Oz! I wouldn't consider this to be one of my all-time faves anymore!
The Family Guy
(I missed the very first couple of shows but I was quite impressed with the quirky characters. I especially love Stewey, the baby. What a crack up! I noticed Seth Green's name but can't make out which character he does, would somebody tell me please! I think this is a cross between The Simpsons and Drew Carey(cos he looks a little like him). The older brother sounds like the weirdo from those Police Academy movies! Maybe it is-I have no idea.)
Buffy
(Yeh, I stayed away as long as I could but eventually got caught up in it all. Mainly cos I like vampires and the supernatural. But before I'd always think 'why is it so damn popular?!' I really couldn't work it out. I only started watching from about the third season so some of it I don't understand but I catch on quick, plus I've seen some of the earlier episodes on video. I still haven't seen when Willow & Xander get together and break up but I sort of know what happened. I like Spike and Xander. I don't like Anya. Especially when she's with Xander. I wish Oz was in it again. The new lesbian-witch thing is not very interesting. Plus, we still haven't even seen them really kiss or anything actually.)
Angel
I wish Doyle hadn't been killed! And I missed that episode too!)
16/2/01 I like the black guy, Gunn. Yeah! He be cool. The Goodies
(I kinda fancied Tim Brooke Taylor and even Graham Garden-who I confuse with Graham Greene!-when I was a youngun'! I would like to get the theme tune as my mobile ringer tone! That'd be cool! Goodies, goodie goodie yum yum.
I don't actually remember much about it tho'- Tim was very patriotic and always had union jacks on his underwear and stuff. Graham had a suit, shirt and trousers all in one outfit like a wetsuit you can just zip it up and you're dressed. There was some huge dog-like brush thing chasing them around Buckingham Palace. The water was contaminated and made people laugh or something. They got stuck in a huge mouth and were trying to get out. They had a threesome bicycle-sounds rude! They did Bananman! Not a bad job either. Good voice acting.)
28/6/05. I recently rented some episodes and my god...it's terrible! I should have let it rest as a pleasant memory in my distant childhood. But no, I had to watch it again and prove to myself why i liked it so much...and now I think it's awful! Quite rude actually! ...still have some good songs though.
Ultraviolet
(Pity I didn't get a chance to see it all. It was cool! That Frances woman is in some other British series as an investigator or something. She's lost weight!)
Later 28/6/05. I now have all the episodes on dvd. Still good stuff!
South Park
(It's crass and in your face. It's bold. It's shocking. I think that's why it appeals to so many but I don't consider it to be the best show in the world. It's clever. But I don't really find myself cracking up much. I like Kenny and Ike-the silent type?! My fave episodes are the ones where zombies take over and the one where Mr Garrison gets plastic surgery to look like David Hasselhoff! I feel sorry for Pip-he's a nice kid! I also liked Damien. He was just misunderstood. Mr. Mackey's "m'okay" is stolen from Beavis & Butt-head!)
Later: I loved the episode where Mr. Garrison discovers drugs and sex! Soooo funny! "We are young, m'okay, heartache to heartache we stand m'okay." "Drugs are bad m'okay. You shouldn't do drugs." And how he loosens his tie and his head gets small. Crack up!
16/2/01 Ok ok now I like it! hehe. I like Saddam Hussein! and I liked the NAMBLA episode "I am an 8 yr old boy looking for fun times with mature men :)" hahaha
28/6/05. I loved "Cartman Gets Pubes" episode. hehehe It was very "koow" ('cool' as Cartman says it)
Charmed
(I like it! A bit of fantasy and all. Alyssa Milano playing a grown up Samantha Micelli. Much better than she was in Melrose! Shannon is a bloody stick insect! Her legs look like they're gonna snap any second! I remember the other girl from Picket Fences. She looks terrible when she smiles. Something about her teeeh. They're all short. I can't believe how big Alyssa's chest is! Looks painful! I can't wait when Prue tells the guy that she's a witch! Cool. Probably never will tho'. I know it's just cashing in on The Craft and Buffy but who cares?)
Later: Now that they're playing it at an earlier time it's actually more inconvenient for me so I hardly ever watch it now. Damn!)
Later: I'm so glad Andie knows all about it now! Cool.
Later: Oh no! How could they kill Andie off?! Sucks! As if there isn't a way to bring him back from the dead. Besides, if all the witches b4 them have written spells into the book then they could just make up their own! I hate it when they think viewers are stupid!
16/2/01 Hmmm I don't watch this anymore! Isn't that Aussie guy in it now?! The one who used to go out with Danni Minogue?!
28/6/05. I stopped watching this after Shannon 's character got killed off. My friend is going to lend me the entire series...I wonder what I will think of it now???

The Secret World of Alex Mack
(I dunno, I liked it! A bit of childhood fantasy.)
Alfred Hitchcock Presents
(Great theme tune! Apparently he drew that side profile himself! How cool! Somehow u don't realise how many c's are in his name 'til u spell it out! Ok, so there were the original B&W epsiodes and then there were the 'remakes'. But the one I remember liking the most was one where this woman is in a wheelchair and she's trying to kill her husband or the husband's trying to kill her and they each succeed but then they don't. It's like she dies, but she only pretended to die so she kills him but he only pretended to die so he kills her etc. They knew what the other was planning so they thought ahead and it was like, cool!)
The Outer Limits
(I think I liked the original B&W better. My favourite episodes:I liked the one where aiens seem friendly and people get to ride to their planet for a 'holiday' but actually the aliens just want to eat the humans. That's a bit like that Simpsons episode-How to Cook Humans->How to Cook for Humans->How to Cook Forty Humans->How to Cook for Forty Humans; crack up)
The Twilight Zone
(I've seen originals and the newer episodes. My favourite episodes: I liked 'Time Enough at Last' and the one where a guy gets a facial operation but he looks normal-and then u find out that everyone else looks like a pig-so what constitutes normal-type of episode.)
The Ray Bradbury Theater
(My favourite episodes: I liked 'Screaming Woman' with a young Drew Barrymore!)
Tales from the Crypt/Vault of Terror
(Why did they rename it 'Vault of Terror'? Anyway this series is cool! They swear and there's nudity and u don't expect that in something like this. My fave episodes: Jon Lovitz was great as a struggling actor trying to get a part in Hamlet and ends up being Horatio! The Lloyd Bridges medical revenge thing where it looks like he's dead but he's not. The 'Goonies' like episode with the Vietnamese kid! Some undertaker is killing people to get more money and all.)
The Prisoner
(I love the them tune! Very cool/clever 60s Brit series created by Patrick McGoohan. This series kicks ass! My favourite episodes:The pilot is by far the best episode. Similar to the first epsiode of 'Nowhere Man'. So funny how he always sounds cranky and how he does that thing with his eye. Like he's got one of those one-eyed specs they used to hold in place with their eye muscles, y'know the one on a chain like in the old days. I also loved 'The Chimes of Big Ben'. Some crappy episodes that don't make much sense like "The Girl Who Was Death' and that Western one.)
28/6/05. I now have the entire series. I must say towards the end and particularly the last one, was so trippy. Kind of an anti-climax. But it's still a great series.
Degrassi Junior High/Degrassi High
(I missed out on Degrassi Kids-I think I saw like, one episode and they were all, little. The acting was pretty bad. But it was cool cos I was just around their age when it was on.
'Aboot' 'leth go put on thome makeup boyth!' (Luke-devoid of any emotion)'Don't you think I know that? Don't you think I care?'(while banging fist against locker)
Too tall, goggle eyed and stick thin Lucy...short hat wearing happy to be Joey Jerimaiah...Glasses wearing and parents died Wheels...Too tall and freckly Snake...Emotionless Luke...Spiky and pregnant Spike...Shaved head mouse-like Liz...Lithping leukemia bald L.D...Bitchy all the way with Stephanie Kaye(or K?)...Thick lips BLT (bacon lettuce and tomato)...Goody two shoes Voula...Shy and plump Michelle...Turned into a grunger Yick...Pompadour wearing fat Arthur...Aids bully but he turned out ok Dwayne...Cheezy(poof) Scooter...Art Garfunkel look-a-like Bartholamew(?)...Teacher Mr. Radicth...who else?)
28/6/05. The first season of 'Junior high' is now on dvd. Excellent!
Dexter's Laboratory
A lot of fun. And Dexter's so cute/sarcastic/short. Funny accent too.
Rocko's Modern Life
Apparently Rocko is supposed to be a kangaroo! Doesn't really look like one tho'. It's kinda cool.
The Clive James Show
He's Australian! He graduated from Sydney uni(like me) in Arts!(like me) He's funny. I met him at my graduation! I'll scan in the photo one of these days. Cool!
Rugrats
It's cute. Haven't seen the movie-not really that desperate to.
The Awful Truth
Very clever, topical, takes the piss out of America@ Can't ask for more than that!
The segments where he's making fun of cops are sooooooo funny! Like the guy that was too smart to be a cop! the black people getting shot cos the police thought they were armed but it always turned out to be a wallet or a candy bar!

Old/Dead

Friends
(I used to watch it regularly then all the friends started being lovers and now the only ones not to get romantically involved are Phoebe and Joey! I don't like Rachel. And I find Monica annoying. I like Phoebe-she's innocent. I've always liked Chandler, until I found out he was going out with Monica! I tuned out when the Ross & Rachel thing hit overload. Boring! Who gives a shit what they do? They should never have gotten together in the first place! Damn it to hell! My favourite bits: When all their little idiosyncrasies get on each others' nerves and they start imitating each other. Joey's dancing. "Oh no no no!" as Chandler described it. There are lots of funny bits and quotes. Clever writers.)
28/6/05. I stopped watching this after about 3 years. I might rent it on dvd and relive it and see what actiually happened. I never kept up to date with who ended up with who etc. Just lost interest!!! i guess it wasn't really about 'friends' anymore...more like 'friends and lovers and partner swappers'
Nowhere Man
(The pilot was unbelievably good. Then I found out that it was axed, then I found out it was a blatant copy of The Prisoner! But it was still interesting. Too bad it was axed. The guy reminded me of Macgyver, however. That's a bad thing.)
Quantum Leap
(I never used to watch it when it was on but a friend leant me some of her episodes and they were really cool! 'Oh boy!')
Battle of the Planets
(I don't remember much except there were 4 guys and one girl and the girl wore pink and when they traveled really fast there were all these spped lines and they had to hold onto their seats! And their aircraft was shaped like a falcon or eagle and so were their costumes. I also liked the theme song.)
The Cities of Gold
(I loved this! I loved the theme song too! I have it at home, among my hundreds of other theme tunes!)
Lancelot Link Secret Chimp
(I can't believe I remember this! I think this was part of the Monkees show?)

Parker Lewis Can't Lose
Find it hard to believe that people thought Corky Nemec was hot. I mean he's ok, but he's no Josh Charles! (haha) Has some surreal elements. Maybe Ally McBeal copied some of the weird style of this. Altho' every time I wach Ally McBeal she's always depressed about not having a man and nothing funny happens at all! (Ok so I've only seen 2 whole episodes!) I remember him in I Know My First Name is Steven. Can't remember if it was any good. The big guy-big lug-type is funny. Girl from Wonder Years as Parker's sister!)
Speed Racer
(It cracks me up how they have to speak without breaks because it's dubbed. Have a closer look n'listen next time.)
Astroboy
(It's hard to believe that some of the episodes are actually really sad. They made me cry! Like the invisible robot or whatever and all these people wanted it dead so someone spraypainted it red(only the bottom part) and so they were able to kill it! Sucked! Funny how women always do voices for little boys. Not so in South Park!)
Press Gang
(This is probably where Julia Swahili(that's what I call her), Gabrielle Anwar and Dexter Fletcher got their first break! I'm sure y'all know the first two but lately I've seen Dexter in Smoking Barrels and in a small part in The Man Who Knew Too Little. I always thought he was a yank but he must be English!)
Murder Most Horrid
This was a wicked show! Lots of twists and turns. It was cool! And Dawn French was in it.
Herman's Head
(The novelty of seeing Yeardley Smith (and she sounds exactly like Lisa naturally!) and Hank Azaria in the one show. He's good! Unfortunately he goes out with (married?) Helen Hunt! I also remember William Ragsdale from Fright Night-a funny movie!)
Dream On
(Clever how they get all these little bits from movies(mainly old) and fit 'em in. Reminds me of Bargearse and Rush-both Late Show 'sendups'. Recently saw the main guy in some tv series where he's really fat. Looks really fake-I certainly hope so! Reminded me of Thinner.)

28/6/05 Some recent additions to my faves

Silent Witness
(I used to thikn English shows were crappy and boring (think Eastenders, The Bill), but then this show changed my mind! I just love all that forensic/psychology stuff. Harry is cool.

Wire in the Blood
Another British series with psychology and serial killers. Very intrigueing stuff.

Some recent shows that I kind of like but I don't really watch

Third Rock from the Sun
(I like the main guy, d'oh, what's his name again? He's been in Blowout and all. He's a really good bad guy! But he's also funny. I also like that kid-um, he was in H20. That woman is a guy! I mean she has nice style but her voice and her face make me think of a transvestite or something. I like the little dude in it. He looks kinda like a girl. He cut his hair!)
Later: John Lithgow!!!!!
Just Shoot Me
(Only cos of the blonde guy. I remember seeing him on SNL.)

Some shows that either I've never felt the urge to watch/wouldn't want to or just plain can't stand

Mad ABout You
(What? Is this supposed to be funny? I can't believe how it's always getting awards. And how everyone loves Helen Hunt. Y'all knwo how I feel! Pathetic.)
Frasier
(What's the big deal?)
Suddenly Susan
(Saw maybe 30 minutes in total and wasn't impressed. Tho' seeing Judd Nelson brought back Breakfast Club memories.)
Veronica's Closet
(Is she gonna come out of it? haha not. She is bloated! Something unatural about her. Especially her neck and she has scary eyes-the colour.)
NYPD Blue
(Never seen it don't want to. Is this the one David Caruso was on? Carrot top ugly pocky Caruso?! How could he have been popular? I actually went to see Kiss of Death - free pass. Yuk! Helen Hunt was in it! I think she got killed?!)
LA Law
(I saw some of the ones with Alexandra Powers-not whole episodes tho'. Just because she was in DPS, mmmokay?! Susan Day used to be in it! Partridge Family!)
ER

(Er!!! Nup. But the big guy from Parker Lewis and an episode of X-Files is in it. He's funny. Gentle giant type.)
Chicago Hope
(double nup)
LAPD something or other
(At least I think there's a show with LAPD in the title. Is this the one with the shaking camera? Or are they all like that?)
Becker
(Don't like Ted Danson. Looks like a snake guy-some horror movie I saw where a guy is injected with snake venom and is gradually turned into a snake freak to sell in a freak circus. He looks like it! So does Tom York-that English actor-is that his name? Does he have the same name as the guy from Radiohead? Can't be. No no, Micheal York is the guy I mean. Alex Desert from Swingers is in it.)
Beverly Hills 90210
(Yeah, right, they never do any work, everyone sleeps with everyone and it's crap!)
Caroline in the City
(I like the drawings tho')
That one with growns_up bulbous nose Fred Savage
Will & Grace
(Looks like a complete remake of Ned & Stacey-same actress! I don't mind her tho')
Dawson's Creek
(Bloody hell! I hate the way Katie Holmes smiles-like she's gonna swallow her lips or something-trying to look cute and shit. Dawson is cross-eyed! Plus it sounds like some shitty Aussie show! I thought it was!)
Crap how Pacey starts dating Joey! Bastard friend! I'm sue it happens tho'! Not that I watch it! Pick it all up from the ads!
American Gothic
(Boy what a disappointment! That girl looked like Juliette Lewis! The kid looked like a little River Phoenix-Stand by Me days.)
Ally McBeal
(She's ana!!! No bust! Well, actually, that's kinda cool! All the men are ugly compared to the women. I feel sorry for them. How come I've heard a lot about that Portia woman? Is she like, Australian or something?!)
7th Sep. 1999. I can no longer say that I hate this show as I saw my very first whole episode last night and I don't believe it but I thought it was ok. Damn! Have I succumbed to the masses? But I think it had a lot to do with the story in that particular episode. 'A' was down cos she thought she'd never find a guy so she made one up and whenever she retreated into her fantasy world Al Green'd come along and sing a sad song about broken hearts or something. And I can really relate to that 'I'm never gonna find anyone!!!' So that's probably why I liked it. Plus there was some 'best of' AMcB on afterwards of which I only saw about 10 minutes because I became disgusted with myself for having subjected myself to one whole hour, but the bit with Tracey (or Tracy?) Ullman intrigued me into thinking 'what would my theme song be?' And so ends my sordid tale of how I enjoyed Ally McBeal. Whew!
16/2/01 Naaaaaah haven't watched it since! ha!
