A group of aliens have arrived on Earth called Taelons. Embraced by humanity, they live among us with protectors, known as Companions. Each Companion is implanted with a CVI, a cyberviral implant, which allows humans total recall of all events, and grants them control of a biogenetic weapon that is attached to the arm known as a scrill. A group of humans untrusting of the Taelon's motives for coming to Earth has formed into a Liberation led by Jonathan Doors. They have determined to discover what the Taelons have planned, and used a doctored CVI in the brain of William Boone to allow him to work for both them and the Taelons. Boone was killed by the Taelon Zo'or after trying to capture an alien named Ha'gel, part of a race that had 'bonded' with the Taelons and made them what they are today. Ha'gel impregnated UK Companion Siobahn Beckett before he was apparently destroyed…
