House of Blues - Anaheim 2001

Well, you may have noticed from the last two shows that they did not play Lonely in Your Nightmare! I was soo darn bummed about it, that I decided that I absolutely could not miss the last show just in case they played it there! You guys remember that I had my sign for Lonely in Your Nightmare last year?? Well, who was more shocked than I was that they actually played it for some of those shows?? But NONE OF MINE!!!! DARN IT!!! I cried after that because I've never heard that song live and wanted to so badly. It was honestly one of the first songs that made me absolutely love Simon's voice.
Anyway, we had a nice lunch at Denise's friend Aimee's in Vegas, and then later we drove to Misty's house and spent the night there. When we got up, we made the last bit of the drive to Aneheim.
We had lunch at the House of Blues, and waited and waited all day yet again. I guess I don't mind the wait much now as long as it is for Duran!! And for some reason it didn't seem as long a wait this time.
I again ended up right in front of Simon with one person I think in front of me. I again was tearing during Michael, maybe because Simon said it was a sad song, maybe because I knew this was the last show...maybe because Simon's voice is just so darn fantastic that I could not help myself. This time, I wore a leopard print shirt and a black skirt, with my loads of glitter, and my little green headband that we got in Vegas.
I'm not sure if you guys had those fake $50 bills at your shows, but I got one, and stuck it in my shirt lol. I couldn't believe that I actually did that! I guess I figured it was the last show so why not? Anyway, by the time Skin Trade came on, I took it out for Simon, and he leaned over someone else so that he could take the one I had!! I was in total shock of course!! Maybe it was because I was watching him and him only through a good majority of the show, maybe it was because I took it out of my shirt!! HAHAAHA!! Who knows, but now that I was thinking about it, I curse myself for not writing anything on it!!! I coulda put my email address!! My website address!!! WHAT A STUPID DORK I AM!!! Heck even my sister Denise wrote NICK all over one she had, and her email address, and he took that one from her!!
Anyway, after the show, we waited around with some friends, (Hey Lisa!! Hey Val!!), and a bit later Simon came out with his beautiful daughter Saffron. The guards were in full force around him, so I couldn't get close enough to try and get him to speak a bit of those Lonely in Your Nightmare lyrics to help me on my who-knows-how-many-hour drive home. But I guess seeing him for the last night was great anyway. And a bit later still, Denise and I went to get our photo with Warren, and also seperately Joe. And I hope those come out too!!!
Finally, at a very early hour of the morning, we decided to finally start the major drive back home. And even now, its taking me days to try and recover from the drive. But I'm still ready to go at it again of course. And it's all for Duran Duran!!! And it makes me all the more determined to move as soon as I can too lol. We were thinking around the Ontario airport maybe??? Oh Simon, the things that I would do for you!!!
