House of Blues - Las Vegas Nevada 2001a

Ok, well those of you who have gotten to know me know that I had to move from San Diego to Chico after Denise lost her job in San Diego. It was really really hard for me, who moved down there in the first place because I knew that Duran did not come up here for concerts. And it was even harder when the announcement came that they were going to tour again. And the most difficult was when I didn't have a job when the tickets went onsale for those first shows.

Finally, I found a temp job, that allowed me to save the money I needed to be able to afford one concert for Denise and myself. And for being the insane Duran fan I am, decided that I was going to drive down to Las Vegas for the trip. We are talking insane here, because it was about 11 hours!!! We left here at about 1145pm and got to Las Vegas at around 1030 the next morning. Luckily for us it was Thursday morning instead of Friday!!

We get to Las Vegas, and as soon as we check into the hotel, go to sleep for a few hours. Then we walk around to get a drink, and go back to sleep.
The next day, luckily for me, I have a fantastic friend whose name is Misty. You all remember I met her a few years ago...what was it 1999?? Anyway, through her friend, who is a really GREAT GUY btw, I was able to go to this show. I also was able to meet Lynn, who I had bought my Halucintating Elvis shirt a few years ago from too! SWEET GIRL TOO!!! HI LYNN!!

The whole time was a great big highlight for me!!! I was able to go and give Simon another present that I had gotten for him - a holographic snake that was filled with sand. He liked it alot I think, and the way he took it from me was something that will remain with me forever I'm sure lol. But he thanked me, and said that he thought it was really neat and he really liked it.

And I'm still thinking that I am really lucky to be able to do all this!!! No pictures from the show or the after part except for one of Misty, Lynn, and myself before I had to leave to go and pick up Denise. That one I believe you can find on Misty's Website! The show police were HORRIBLE!!!! And afterwards too where Simon was concerned...they actually took the film from some poor girl's camera after she snapped a shot of him backstage! I guess our Simon was not in a camera mood at that moment! Anyway, here was the setlist!!
