Oh wait! Did I forget to mention that Dad got us Vegas tickets as belated birthday presents? YAHOO!! He thought we were crazy to want to go to more than one concert, but he got us the tickets anyway. So, as I mentioned before, after the LA show, I drove. I honestly thought I was lost several times, but probably around 1-3am finally made it to Misty's house, where we were going to stay the rest of the night along with several other people. I hardly slept at all, but managed to finally drift off. In the morning, we took our time about getting up and ready. Sarah and Co. left early to get ready for the Vegas party they were planning beforehand, so it was Elaine, Denise, Misty, her husband Lance, Christie, Stacey and myself of course getting ready. We all took showers, and Elaine finally got to see the video for CARELESS MEMORIES. Finally we left, and lost Misty, Lance, Stacey, and Christie along the way. Finally we get to Vegas, and check into our hotel, the LUXOR. We get ready, and go. We missed the party unfortunately, and got there right before they opened the doors. Elaine went to find Sarah and Misty, and got to sneak in when they opened the doors. I was REALLY dissapointed because I wasn't in the center like I wanted, but on the left by Nick (sorry Nick!). I think that was the closest I'd ever been to Simon before! He came to stand right over me, and all I could do was stand there. I was too overwhelmed to take pictures even. WHEW! WHAT A MAN! I'd hoped Simon would see me because I wore this dress with glitter things all over it...trying to catch his attention. I nearly cried during SENM because it was so beautiful, and by this time almost had all the new songs memorized. It was something I'll never forget. At the end of the show, Simon looked towards us and winked at someone. I keep hoping it was me, and in my dreams it will be always. After it ended, I couldn't believe it was over. We met up with Misty, Lance, Sarah, Christie, and Stacey, and decided to head over to the Venetian, where we heard the band were staying. We got there by taking the backroads (traffic was HORRIBLE) and met up with Sarah. After a while, we left, and headed over to the PARIS to check it out before going back to the hotel. Lisa, who was staying with us, was already there, and she got to meet the band backstage too, so she showed us the pictures. In the morning, I was supposed to leave to be back at work by 5, but decided it wasn't happening. Instead, Elaine, Denise and I walked around the Strip. It wasn't something we should've done in one day, but reluctantly we headed home. My voice was nearly totally gone, and my hearing, but I didn't care. Being that close to Simon was a fantastic moment. Later, we found out that Stacey, Misty, Lance, and Christie all got to meet the band at their hotel. They had gotten there after we left, and saw them come in. In the morning, they met them as they were cheking out of the hotel. I couldn't believe I missed meeting Simon! By this time I was the only one who hadn't met at least one member of Duran (remember Denise met Nick at Disneyland)....boo hoo!! Oh well, it was back to waiting for my chance..
