From The Secretary
Brethren:
We have enjoyed a good year thus for having a good amount of work
to perform. Our next special
communication is set for Wednesday
November 17, 2004 and is a Master Mason degree. We would like to have as many of the craft in
attendance as possible. December 9, 2004 will be our last
Regular Communication of the year and elections will be held. Please try to assist your officers in making
our lodge more active and better attended.
If you have not paid your dues for the 2004 or
earlier (see your mailing label on the Newsletter) you have been dropped as
NPD. Please remit your dues ($50.00)
before Dec. 31, 2004 and
you may be reinstated without any further complication.
DUES INCREASED for 2005. The dues will increase to $54.00 for the year
2005 and will continue steadily increasing through 2008 as was decided in Grand
Lodge March 2004. Our by-laws state that
when Grand Lodge Per Capita changes our dues will change to match the increase
or decrease.
Thanks you for allowing me to serve as
your Secretary.
Fraternally,
Kevin Ennis P/M

Don’t name a
pig you plan to eat. Country fences need to be horse high, pig tight, and bull
strong. Life is not about how fast you
run, or how high you climb, but how well you bounce. Keep skunks insurance, salesmen,
lawyers and bankers at a distance.
Life is simpler when you plow around the
stumps. A bumble bee is faster than a
John Deere tractor. Trouble with a milk
cow is, she won’t stay milked. Don’t skinny dip in the cow pond with
snapping turtles. Words that soak into
your ears are whispered, not yelled.
Meanness doesn’t happen overnight.
To know how country folks are doing, look at their barns, not their
houses. Never lay an angry hand on a kid
or an animal, it just ain’t helpful. Teaches, bankers, and hoot owls sleep with one eye open. Forgive you enemies. It messes
with their minds. Don’t sell your mule
to buy a plow. Two can live as cheap as
one if one don’t eat. Don’t chase
anything meaner than yourself into a
corner. You can catch more flies with
honey than vinegar, that is assuming that you want to
catch flies.
Man is the critter who feels the need to label things as flowers or
weeds. It don’t
take a very big person to carry a grudge.
Don’t go huntin’ with a fellow named
Chug-A-Lug. You can’t unsay a cruel
statement.
Every path has some puddles. Never wallow in the pigpen with the
pigs. You’ll just get dirty, and the
pigs like it.
The best sermons are lived, not preached. Most of the stuff people worry about, never happens anyway.
