Loaded is a violent, bloody 2D shooter. It delivers the goods, but do people really want this sort of game now? I enjoyed playing it, but after just the 2nd level I started finding things just a little repetitive, a few more, and I was bored.
There is some vague plot about these convicts (you) that are trying to escape from prison. It doesn't explain how you manage to start with some awesome weaponry, or why you are in the joint in the first place?! Still, I don't think the plot is really meant to impact on the game too much anyway.
Graphically and visually it is nice, even by games made today, but still somewhat simplistic and anachronistic. The enemy has very simple AI, and can often therefore be duped into compromising positions. Quite large 2D scrolling maps, which are somewhat maze-like, but you have a simple scanner/radar with which to navigate (plus your own brain of course).
Good fun for a quick blast, but no lasting appeal for me.
