Greetings Brethren:

I would first like to thank all the Brothers who came to our March Regular Communication. We had a good meeting which ran smoothly.

The Brethren elected to Pass our Entered Apprentice Masons to receive the Second Degree on the fourth Thursday 24 of March. I would like to extend an invitation to you All to come and help us give these brothers a nice degree. Wor.. Bro. Terrell Altman will be the Lecture. We will also have an E/A Degree on the 31st of March. Looking forward to seeing you at this degree also.

I am also proud to say that our attendance has been up, and I have enjoyed the Fellowship.

Brethern:
I am in Plymouth, England attending the Worldwide Association of Harmony Lodges. I am representing our lodge, Harmony #22. It might interest you to know that there are 50 Harmony Lodges that have agreed to attend this association meeting. The countries represented are: United States, United Kingdom, Ireland, Spain, South Africa, Russia, Canada, Kenya, Nigeria, Chile, Turkey, Guadeloupe, Switzerland, New Zealand among others. It is interesting to know that Harmony Lodge #1 is in Moscow, Russia, affiliated with the Grand Lodge of Russia. It will be interesting to know how Masonry and communism work. I will bring back the answer.

My trip will include a visit to the Grand Lodge of England in London and to the most anticipated visit to Rosslyn Chapel in Edinborough, Scotland. Rosslyn Chapel’s story is unique in and of itself. The chapel was constructed in 1446 by Sir William St. Clair, the last St. Clair, Price of Orkney. This means nothing to us except that it was the St. Chairs, of them Knights Templar who fled to Scotland from France in 1312 to save our precious fraternity. The headquarters of Freemasonry and the Scottish Knights Templar was founded just a few miles away from Rosslyn Chapel. History records the St. Clair’s provided a refuge near Rosslyn Chapel for the persecuted Knight of Europe where, during the persecution, 550 Knights Templar were k9illeed in 0one day by French forces ordered by the pope to eradicate the Knights Templar and Freemasonry forever. Freemasonry has been a threat to despots the world over, Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin and France murdered 200,000 freemasons as they thought freemasonry was a threat to their power.

Historians believe that he small crypt of the Rosslyn shrine was the lower middle chamber where the masons received their wages. Before Rosslyn Chapel was completed and before the vaults were sealed of, 20 Knights Templar were buried there in full armor. All historians wonder what was buried there that took 20 Knight Templar to symbolically guard and protect. Was the Holy Grail? The arc of the covenant?.

I hope to find some of the hidden sign of Freemasonry on this informative trip to Rosslyn Chapel.

Please continue to call a brother and remind him of our lodge meetings and try to visit the work of other lodge in the 4th Masonic District. Visitations are beginning to pay off with increased visitation to our lodge by brothers from our neighboring lodges. Lets continue to put new spark in our ancient fraternity.

During 2006, we will be celebrating the 250th anniversary of Harmony Lodge #22, 1776 to 2006 Help us commemorate 250 years of Masonry in our community. Your thoughts on programs for the anniversary year will be appreciateed.

Brethren:

Our year continues its upward trend. We’ve has several will attended Regular Communications and Degree Work meeting, and there is yet more work before us this year. If you have not been to watch\, or participate in degree work, there is no better way to get back into your Masonic journey than to come, watch and assist a fellow Brother in his progression toward his Master Mason Degree and path of enlightenment. Come one, come all, and bring another Brother with you. Degree wok is being regularly scheduled for the fourth Thursday of the month.
Brethren, we would all like to get to know you better as men and as Masons. A list our members in the local areas, was in our last newsletter, so you can become familiar with the names of you Harmony Lodge Brothers. However, there is no better way to really get to know your Brother then to sit beside him at dinner, share some stories, and then sit in Lodge together. We are called to help one another through our obligations. It would be wonderful to meet each of you to better know who in our Lodge lives in this town, we can all turn to for assistance should be need come to anyone of us. If you have not done so already, please make a late, New Year’s resolutions to come to Lodge at least one time this year, either for a regular communications, for some degree work, or several of each. Your regular attendance is welcome and desired.
Our Lodge has a wonderful history, and may of the prominent men in history of Beaufort were, and are member of our Lodge . To add to our history and positive position in the community we are looking for ways for Masonry to become more visible. A good example is the Lodge sponsored a blood drive through the Low country Community Bleed Center that is held at Wal-Mart about every 90 days. The January blood drive brought in 26 units, and the Lodge will receive an award at a luncheon on 7 April. Look for future blood drive date in upcoming newsletters, and the come out and support the Lodge. Tell your family and friends and make sure you tell the folk in the bloodmobile that you want to donation to go to the Harmony Lodge account. If you have any additional ideas to put Masonry and Harmony Lodge on “the front page” for our positive contributions, please contact one of the Lodge officers, or come to Lodge and present your idea.

Remember, our regular communications are on the 2nd Thursday of the month, degree work is o n the 4th Thursday, dinner is around 7:00 pm, and the gavel drops at 7:30. I look forward to seeing each of you in the South, and may God bless each of you, and families in your daily life and work.
