P.A.L.S. Meeting

October 25,2003

Present: Heidi, Denise, Lisa "Obesa", Joan "Demblimpski", Mariana and guest Andrea.

This fall meeting brought many new beers. Lisa and "company" found some unusual varieties, quite drinkable and interesting. Our first taste, a THREE STOOGES variety reminded us of why we get together; we need a break from the testosterone around us and we need an estrogen boost (unfortunately THAT was not available in the STOOGES brew). However there was plenty of what we needed in the discussion and jocularity that accompanies beer club meetings. Joan got loose lipped and shared her sister’s most embarrassing moment, that is, when she "scunned" her shoulder while gay bar hopping. Actually the story is quite funny especially how Joan created the word "scunned". I guess we determined it is a cross between skinned and falling while drunk. There was also discussion about how Joan should write a book, or maybe a new dictionary. This language thing gets more interesting the older we get. Could it be we are looking to be more verbally efficient? Or are we finding language more "challenging" as we get older? Are we gaining vocabulary intelligence, or are we sounding linguistically confused? Maybe it boils down to wisdom. After all, Joan’s mother was way ahead of the game when years ago she described the fussy baby as "crexing". (Was that the word?) At any rate, we Venusians speak our own language.

There was also more talk about the beer club calendar. That is, the one we have been "asked" to pose for. We decided we would have to spend time "designing" each picture/pose, and we could have past beer club guests join us as well (Rhonda, Andrea, sister Joan, Jill, Chris, Jess...am I missing anyone? we KNOW you’d join us!) More to follow on that topic.
