P.A.L.S.
Meeting
3-14-03
Present: Denise, Heidi, Jan, Joan, and Mariana
The meeting was the first to kick off the St. Pattys Day celebration this year. We all were wearing a bit of the green, including my hair addition which Heidi said looked like a puff of green sh?#. And Joans beer picks had a bit of the Irish in them. Interesting and delicious is a good description of the variety, from light to dark, and most of them complex in flavor.
As usual there was catching up to do, and the camaraderie of women. What would we do without each other to lean on, help us up when we are down, make us laugh when we want to cry, or to figure out the probable problem probably? Thanks for being there! Especially when it comes to advice on plucking eyebrows and removing unwanted facial hair. After all, who wants to walk around with a full beard? I also have to admit that I secretly enjoy writing with my light up pen, even though you all mocked me. I guess that is the "little girl" left in me.
The taste of Ireland and Jans upcoming 50th birthday go us thinking about a special field trip. I thought Germany would be a good place to go to get some good beer, but the consensus was to visit Ireland, for our collective 50th birthdays. Sounds like it could be fun. Joan also said she could probably get us a good deal on a B & B that a friend of hers owns. He also owns a shop here on the East side called Knockahoople Cottage. Well have to check it out sometime. There was much discussion about upcoming P.A.L.S. meetings. We may not have an actual meeting this summer as we hope to attend the So. Milw. Community Center BeerFest in May; possibly a trip to Chicago in June; and the Great Taste of the Midwest in August. It will be a busy spring/summer. We did manage to get a date for April on the calendar.
Next meeting Saturday, April 26, 2003, 7:00ish. Bring your calendars.
HOST JAN
Respectfully submitted,

Fact - "Eat, Drink, and Be Merry, For Tomorrow We May Diet":
Beer
gets
a bad rap when it comes to calories. But the truth is that 12 oz. of a regular
pale American lager has only 151 calories slightly less than a glass
of 2% milk. By comparison, 12 oz. of Chalblis contains 264 calories, a Big Mac
has 540 calories, and 12 oz. of corn chips has 1,860 calories.
