P.A.L.S. MINUTES
11-17-01
Members present: Jan, heidi, Lisa, Denise and Mariana.
Jans first club meeting was nothing short of excellent. The house looked great (as always, Im sure), and the basement was comfortable and cozy. What was truly impressive, given her naïveté, was her beer selections. She selected a variety of microbrews, with different colors and flavors. All were pleased and we drank more than our fair share. Jan revealed that she purchased the beers in red granite. Sure hope I can get some around here! I found a new FAVORITE.
The evening was loaded with "quotables", from nearly everyone. In one conversation, an old phrase took on a new twist we were talking about how sometimes you cant see the force thru the trees, which means you may end up on the dark side. (Does the combination of malts, water and yeast cause you to lose your hearing?) Later I mentioned that in "comparising" the beers we tasted, I liked the Winterland best. ?Comparising? New word! It sounds right!
As the evening wore on, we talked about many things, and life in general. That is what makes PALS so perfect. It keeps a woman SANE! How else can one survive (eeewwww) middle age without her girlfriends to help her get by? The drop in estrogen necessitates the gathering of the females, to combine what little we have, to grow together to make more. Its like getting a refill! It does make sense! Just like the quote of the evening by Denise, when talking about how crazy daily life (household and family) can be, "I thought it was the polish in me until I lived with the Irish". And that just about sums it up!
Next meeting: ROUND ROBIN
An executive decision was made to limit the visits to 3 houses. This year it will be (in order of appearance), Jan, Lisa, Mariana. Members can double up for food and beverage selections.
DATE December 22, 2001, at 6:00pm (Lets try to finish at a reasonable hour)
BEER FACT American colonists who did not drink alcoholic beverages were required by at least one early life insurance company to pay a 10% higher rate than that required from acknowledged imbibers.
Respectfully submitted, Mariana |
